Survivor: China
« on: Aug 21, 2007 at 09:51 AM »
CBS today announced the 16 new castaways who will compete in "Survivor: China" when the 15th installment of the Emmy Award-winning series premieres Thursday, Sept. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

"Survivor: China" will feature a cast of 16 Americans who will begin the series amid the bustle of downtown Shanghai before moving to HuangPu Mountain's Mi Tuo Temple for a Buddhist ceremony where they will be instructed to leave all of their worldly possessions behind. The castaways will then be marooned with the clothes on their back at two separate islands on Zhelin Lake (translation: the Land of 1,000 Lakes) located in the Jiangxi Province. They will split into two tribes, Fei Long (translation: Flying Dragon) and Zhan Hu (translation: Fighting Tiger), and will each be given a copy of Sun Tzu's The Art of War for tribe motivation and assistance throughout the game.

"Survivor: China" will once again afford each tribe the opportunity to obtain a Hidden Immunity Idol which may save someone from elimination at a future Tribal Council. This time, two Hidden Immunity Idols will be in plain sight (one at each camp), although the castaways will not realize this at the start of the game. Each week, the winning tribe of the Reward Challenge will be allowed to kidnap someone from the losing tribe. The person who is kidnapped will receive a note from host Jeff Probst before departing for the enemy camp and will be instructed to give it to one member of the enemy tribe (the kidnapped victim will decide who receives it) in private. The clue will inform this person of the Hidden Immunity Idol located somewhere at their camp. This person must then decide if they wish to share the information with their tribe or keep it to themselves. The kidnapped victim will return to their original tribe at the following Immunity Challenge.

The last Survivor season I'll be watching, unless, Sky Cable has a channel that will carry future Survivor seasons.

Just saw a commercial on C/S that it was pushed to 3PM pala. Sorry, I based my post on their full-page ad in TV Star Guide Magazine.

There's still at least one viewer here, pero mukha naman akong tanga kung mag-post ako dito na walang kausap...  ;D

It's been a very entertaining season for me so far, but I found the twist to be very unfair. It was like, "Choose the two strongest from the other team so you can eliminate them next." Great way to reward people doing well in the game.

You're not alone, Hankey. I almost applauded ladies who threw the challenge because I thought it was the best strategic move for them at that point; however, how they did it wasn't very classy. Too bad the producers gave them new swim wear last week. It would've been neat how they would have lasted with just the clothes on their back the first time they set foot in China.

I'm rooting for James - he was funny when he was laughing uncontrollably at the prospect of the fake idol being used... and it was!  ;D

I like this show a lot more than The Amazing Race right now.

It's not just you. Can't stand her either.

Actually, I don't know if there's anyone left in the game that I can stand.  ;D

James was a very gracious loser. His exit speech could've been angry or bitter, but it was just... calm. He knows it's a game.

I forgot they usually air the finale the Sunday (Monday here) after the second to the last episode. I had already set my recorder for Friday and would have missed it. Thanks for the reminder.  :)

I'm ultimately happy with the outcome, given who the final 4 were in the first play. The winner definitely played the best game, and was very good at answering final tribal council questions.

Annoying that there was no "live" reunion show locally. It's on Wednesday at... 8PM?

I'm sure I'll have watched it before then...  ;D
