Sharapova was just really in the zone the whole tournament.. Ivanovic didn't really play that bad.. Dinaan sa lakas ng palo at lakas ng sigaw ni Sharapova.. I think Sharapova's win over Davenport really gave her the confidence for the tournament.. Then when she won over Henin, she just went for the kill after that.. Nakatulong din yung pagkatalo ng Williams sisters.. For Ivanovic, those 2 emotional games before the finals may have taken its toll on her.. Those were 2 very hard games then she had to face a very in shape Sharapova.. Too much for her to handle at that point, I think..

Meron raw horrifying body odor si Sharapova?  Even called by linesmen and ballboys in some tournaments as "Stinky".

http://sportscrack.blogspot.com/

Might be true, I recall those tally lanky Russian dancers who became regulars in Casino shows in Angeles.....they all have atrocious body odor.  :P

Luck of the draw, I guess...

Anyway, I'm happy seeing Maria raising up her 3rd Slam trophy... stinky odors? Who cares...

Next up... Djoker's game! I really rejoiced yesterday after watching and seeing the Fedex slumped all the time... Again, win or lose, I'll be rooting for the Djoker... I just love his personality on and off the court...

I'd actually pay to have sweet monkey love with Sharapova after a sweaty match.  ;D

Djokovic losing to Safin.. Brilliant! Not really a fan of him. I find him irritating.

How about that Ivanovic-Dechy match? I was rooting for Ivanovic but towards the end I was wishing Dechy would win. Dechy really played well and I feel bad she lost. Not a good game by Ivanovic. Too many unforced errors. Her service was inconsistent as well. I hope she plays better next time. She won't meet anyone really strong until the Quarters so it would be sad if she goes before then..

if only Sharapova exerts the same effort on her shots as she does on her grunts, she'd win more matches.. another early exit for her on straight sets..

the guy that nadal beat - ernests gulbis - looks like he could be better than djokovic, in a short time.

and then there were none.. the pretty girls are gone.. no more eye-candy.. yesterday, it was Sharapova and Hantuchova, today Ana Ivanovic got the boot.. totally outplayed by Zheng.. she seemed too slow compared to how she played at the French Open.. Oh, well.. I hope Nadal doesn't go next.. i'd love to see another 5-set match between him and Federer.. Federer is up against Hewitt next.. I hope Hewitt gives him a pretty good match.. He's been playing pretty well but Federer is just coasting through his matches so it'll be interesting how he fares against him..

Both Federer and Nadal entered the Wimbledon semi-finals. I'm hoping they make it yet again to the finals.  :)

Venus Williams is advancing to the finals. Serena Williams is expected to follow her sister. Smells like Wimbledon '03.  :)

Venus and Serena Williams in the women's singles finals.
Roger Federer vs. Marat Safin in the men's singles semi-finals.
Rafa Nadal vs. Rainer Schuettler in the other men's semi-finals.

I'm smelling a repeat of last year's finals.  :D

This really hurts… Losing Paris for me was nothing, losing here is a disaster.

Sad day for Federer. I hope he'll get more motivated next season. Congratulations to Nadal for finally winning on grass!

greatest final i've ever seen. absolutely brutal and brilliant play from both. i set my recorder for 3 more hours after the 3rd set finished - and 3 more hours was not enough!

season isn't over yet... u.s. open coming up. hard courts are not a nadal specialty (yet) so it could be a federer-djokovic final. but we have learned not to count out rafa.

I was in my early teens in 1980 when I watched what I thought was the greatest Wimbledon finals between the legends Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe.   Who would forget that over-extended 4th set (I forgot the score but it was an endless tie-break that went beyond 10 points I think) when Borg finally equalized the match at 2-2 and eventually won in the 5th set.

Last night's match between Nadal and Federer was definitely on the same level of greatness.  It could have gone either way.   Federer's resilience was unbelievable despite losing the 1st 2 sets.  He simply wouldn't relinquish his title without fighting up to the very last point.  How many times was he down 0-30 on his serve, only to answer with 4 straight point to win the game.    On the other hand, Nadal's recovery from all missed chances to wrap it all up in the 4th was equally amazing.  Had Nadal lost this championship, he would forever be haunted by the memories of him being up 5-2 in the tie-break, serving for the match, yet eventually losing the set.   John McEnro failed to do that in his epic battle with Borg in 1980.   I didnt want it to end despite totally losing Monday morning sleep.
