I have the privilege of owning a Dynakit ST-70 and I must say I'm very happy with it. Very good soundstage, clear and sweet mids and highs, and the bass is more than adequate. I listen to jazz most of the time, a little bit of classical, and this amp does justice to all types of music. This is really a classic, and I'd be a fool to let go of it.
My system: Dynaco PAS-3 preamp(the perfect partner), Rotel RCD 1070 CD player, Thorens TD160 super (soon to be upgraded to a Rega Planar 3), and the classic Epos ES14 speaker. Hail to the ST-70!!!

watch this forum guys; babaha ng pas-3 & stereo 70 (also sca-35) from next week to december! the pas-3's (2 units) are stock, sa st70's, may stock(1 unit), may upgraded (2-3 units), may series 2 (1-2 units) rin. yung sca-35, well... it's reserved for young-hov. shoemaker, why not extend the topic to other dynaco tube equipment as well?

OK, Hyperaudio, the Father of Dynaco vintage gear in the Philippines.......maybe the world!

Trivia: Both the Dynaco ST70 power amp as well as the PAS3 pre-amp are in The Absolute Sound's (TAS) "10 Best Buys of Used Audio Gear" Hall of Famers!

Definitely oldies but goodies!

I'd grab the st70+pas3 combo in a heartbeat! I guess a jazzed up sca-35 is the next best thing. I can't wait!

If you could swing a good deal from Hyperaudio on a ST70 / PAS3 combo, by all means, grab it. Those two are a match made in heaven.

BTW, those two were also my first taste of tube stuff back in 1989. Guess what, up to now, I still use an ST70 in my system. Yep, its that good!

Hello guys,

Its my turn to give praises to the ULTIMATE VINTAGE TUBE AMP AND PRE-AMPLIFIER the world has ever listened to...THE DYANCO ST-70 and PAS-3.

Its been 3 months that i've owned one through the efforts of DYNACO PROPHET...HYPERAUDIO and the generosity of EPOSMAN ( hey I still owe you, btw ) and man its absolutely FABULOUS. My audio system consists of: DYNAKIT ST-70 (factory wired ), PAS - 3 (factory wired), EPOS ES - 14's, Pink Triangle's Little Pink Thing with an RB-300 fitted with a SUMIKO BLUE POINT MC Cartridge, Sony CDP-311, DENON DRW-660 tape deck, QED Silver spirals ( speaker cable ) and QED interconnects. I've been in SONIC NIRVANA ever since with this system. I'm planning to upgrade to a 24 bit CD player but my good buddy EPOSMAN says the CLEARAUDIO AURUM BETA adds a totally new dimension to vinyl sound...Hmmmm...THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMM! Viva ST-70!

Hi, I am new to this forum. As for my personal preference for tubes for the ST70,

7199 - RCA
5AR5 - Mullard or amperex
EL34 - Mullard, skinny Siemens and Svetlana for new production types.

I totally agree, you cannot go wrong with ST70.

Happily using a modified Dynakit ST70 and Foreplay preamp from HYPERAUDIO.

Just trying new tubes, currently using:

EL34 - Svetlana's
7199 - Jan Philips
5ar4 - Sovtec

I like the Svet's, added more detail and focus on my systems atleast

Seems that our friend, Hyperaudio is still in his shop working on more tube projects. Ako na muna sagot sa iyo.

You are correct, the integrated SCA35 is cheaper than the ST70 / PAS3 combo. Off the bat, OK na ang SCA35. But if you have the cash, buy the ST70/PAS3 combo. its a lot better, not to mention more flexible for upgrades.

now playing: all-chrome, souped-up dynakit stereo 70.
here's a rundown of upgrades/highlights involved:
i. power supply:
1. elna cerafine (bypassed with rtx multicap), sprague atom and panasonic filter capacitors to really clean the high voltage supply and tighten up the bass of the system.
2. metal oxide dropping resistors.
3. souped up power transformer for power reserve to drive inefficient speakers.
4. ultra-fast diode (with snubber) on bias supply for stable bias even on high transient signals.
5. iec sockets to let you optimize power cord choice.
ii. signal and output circuits:
1. john e. fast paper-in-oil and audio note aluminum foil coupling capacitors.
2. allen-bradley carbon comp resistors used throughout for dynamics, dynamic bloom and liquidity.
3. 5% polypropylene capacitors on feedback and filter circuits for signal accuracy.
4. triode/ultralinear switching.
iii. tubes used:
1. el-34, nos siemens quad.
2. 7199, nos rca pair.
3. 5ar4/gz34, mullard.
iv. hardware.
1. gold-plated inputs (rca jacks) and outputs (5-way binding posts).
2. gold-plated ceramic tube sockets for driver and output tubes.
3. silver plated copper wiring and silvered solder used throughout.

nabenta na nga eh. kahit kagagaling lang sa sakit nung tao, naghanap ng driver at kumaripas sa shop namumutla pa nga. nung marinig niya na pumula na at naglaho ang sakit. another happy stereo 70 lover who really enjoys his music.
