@newbie

If you want Automatic optimization go SONOS (Playbar, Beam or the Playbase).  It works with any IOS device and utilizes the mic of that IOS device to tune the soundbar to the room and apply equalization.

One button to set it up just like what you want.

from their website: Trueplay analyses room size, layout, décor, speaker placement, and any other acoustic factors that can impact sound quality. Then it perfectly adjusts how each woofer and tweeter produces sound.

Ako din gusto ko plug and play na lang. Senior moments na.

You can check out the bose soundbar din, very amzing product as well, fromm setting up to calibration. Magugulat ka paano yun rear surrounds will sound at the back of the listener kahit wala speaker.

Can you recommend a good soundbar for a small sala? Budget is +-15k. Currently considering the JBL Bar 2.1 which is 15k (discounted).

Polk signa s2

Thanks for recommendation. Will definitely consider this.

What about the Magnifi Mini? Is this a huge step up from the Signa S2 or JBL Bar 2.1?

Guys looking for at least a true 5.1 soundbar yun talagang may rear speaker...
So far nababasa ko ang mga ganyan soundbar ay jbl bar 5.1 and pol audio magnifi max..
Which among these is a good choice? Or aside from these two are there some more suggestions? My budget is just until 50k.
Will mostly used for movies..

What do you mean po maganda pa support?

So in your own opinion po mas ok yun magnifi max kaysa sa jbl bar 5.1?

Samsung HW- N950
SRP is around 70K but if you will pay in cash, the discounted price is I think 51.5K

With your budget, I highly recommend this...
It has Dolby Atmos and dts:X support.
It has 2 wireless rear speakers for a total of  7.1.4 set up

Malaki ba difference in terms of overall quality of sound from jbl bar 5.1?

Hindi ako familiar sa JBL Bar 5.1 sound quality eh.
But looking at specs and capabilites alone, malaki lamang ng Samsung...
Yung Dolby Atmos at DTS:X support palang, its a winner.

Unless space is an issue, parang ang P70k na soundbar cost the same as a P70k rceiver with entry level speakers w/ Atmos and sub?

the best soundbar that I personally tested with Atmos support is the Sony HT-ST5000 ... I saw in the reviews that it also garnered a 5-star from What HiFi ... besides the sound quality, what I really like about it is that it doesn't have satellite speakers - just the soundbar and subwoofer and it can really simulate rear surround on those height speakers ... it is ideal for small tv/living room and would not have any cable clutter except for the HDMI connection ... what I don't like about it is hindi kaya ng powers ko - 72k cash and 80k for credit card 0% installment

here's a link to the review -
https://www.whathifi.com/sony/ht-st5000/review

another good thing is that it is not too big
Marantz NR1200, MartinLogan Motion 20 digital audio setup, and Sony A80J

I agree... no faux surround and heights can match the sound immersion of a set up with physical surrounds and heights speakers can do

it's a good thing though, that they have the 'soundbar' option for those with tight space constraint =)) AV rack palang makain na talaga sa space =) and the wires clutter is a headache for some =)

Cant decide if i just get the jbl bar 5.1 or the polk magnifi max?
Almost same lang sila ng price pag cash price around 35+ k...

Medyo parang hindi ko na consider yun samsung hw n950,  medyo malaki differece from these two in terms of price. Parang nasa 50+ na ata price nito

Agree as well on this. Iba pa din ang full HT system in sound delivery. In hindsight the  soundbar technology is still in its infancy. 5 years ago they were just niche products but now almost all big consumer manufacturers have their own Soundbars with different price points at that. Not all people who buy Soundbars are space challenged. Many consumers are simply not in the market for a full blown HT system, Many consumers are satisfied with higher quality sound when they watch TV’s or movies with very little effort in setting up the components to work together.  Those consumers are the main target market of Soundbars.

Most if not all flat panel TVs do not come with room filling sound. That void created a whole new product need and manufacturers are very happy to supply that need. I’m sure Sony or LG can engineer their TV’s to incorporate soundbar level quality of sound but it would be a risk for them to do so since that will increase cost which will be passed on to the consumer.

There is no such thing as a true 5.1 sound bar. Based out of reviews online, the manufacturers themselves do not claim a pin point accuracy of a 5.1 set up. You will never get the true separation of surround channel output unlike a true 5.1 sound system. Sound bars are huge "enhancement" to your regular TV built in speakers, specifically for small and space challenged environment.

Yeah. And for them to implement the left and right channel of a 5.1 system, they have to place th left and right speakers at the side of the panels. Which would make the bezel bigger and will also make the the TV thicker which is very much contrary to the current designs.

If the source that you are watching is just stereo sound (not 5.1 dolby digital),  will the soundbar with rear speaker like jbl bar 5.1 and polk magnifi max sr will still have sound at the rear speaker?

Or the soundbar will just become 2.1 audio channel only?

With my Polk Max SR, may algorithm (I think its pro-logic ata) siya that produces the surround output in 2 channel movie watching. It's very descent na unlike the pro-logic of the yesteryear.
