I don't give a crap about the Vhong Navarro story but since my parents like to watch Pinoy showbiz talk shows during Sunday afternoon, I heard a statement that really stuck to my craw. Lolit Solis has said that she doubts the rape charge against Vhong Navarro because Vhong Navarro "is a handsome and charming man" and that every woman would be irresistable to his charms.

No reaction from the media. Nada.

It's an extremely sexist comment unfortunately typical among Filipinos. The accused rapist being "guwapo" and "charming" should not be used as a defense. It's VERY insulting towards women.

That sexist comment form Solis may have some truth. But not i think of Vhongs being pogi, kasi di naman siya pogi - but I believe that it is because he is a a lil hot showbiz personality. So many trying hard showbiz would be personalities would always want to be with people in showbiz to possibly get attention. The problem with Vhong is he is always taking this as an opportunity and he takes advantage of the permissiveness of some girls. These girls would just later on realize na naisahan na sila ni Vhong. Vhong is a sick dude, i think. Some more girls should come now into the open.

The same thing she said when defending Jinggoy and Matt last week I think. She was defending them with the wrong reason I forgot exactly what she said. Sarap suntukin!

I remember somebody mentioned to me she used to teach in UP probably some media course for a time and she's not someone I'll believe. Or probably will on the things "not to".

I hope people will realize not to vote for artistas anymore in 2016!

Are there girls who want to sleep with Vhong Navarro just to get ahead in showbiz? Yes! But saying that statement is no excuse because it's EXTREMELY derogatory towards women. I don't know if Vhong is guilty of rape or not but defending him by saying "eh guwapo at charming naman siya" is very sexist.

It's also tantamount to victim blaming which unfortunately is STILL common place when it comes rape cases in the Philippines. If a girl gets drunk, flirty or wears a short skirt, she automatically gets at least part of the blame if not ALL the blame if she gets raped.

No is no. No woman "deserves" to get raped.
