What a great sale this has been!

I would have wanted to buy some more DVDs. Unfortunately, I lost my credit card 2 days before the sale so I had to cut my budget in half since I'd be paying in cash. I can't wait for the next sale!

Anyways, here are the titles I got:

1. Charlotte Gray
2. 48 Hours
3. Another 48 Hours
4. True Believer
5. Eye for an Eye
6. California Suite
7. Hero
8. Heartburn
9. Used Cars
10. West Wing Season 5, 6 & 7
11. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2 disc)
12. Ghost Rider (2 Disc)
13. Ratatouille
14. Simpsons The Movie
15. Surf's Up

Didn't buy it though.  I will just wait for it to be on sale.  Maybe after 40 days and nights?    What a sale weekend at Podium!  Thank you to the DVD GODS!!

I failed to report this before, but here goes.

When I was in the sale last Friday, as I mentioned before, I was sort of "hanging around" near the Magna rep lady. She had on her hands a roll of those "Imported DVD" triangular stickers. She was pasting them on Magna DVD's that ought to have one pasted on them. Anyway, I don't know if it was out of confusion or whatever, but I could swear she stuck one on a budget edition DVD. I know I should have pointed it out to her, but I didn't want her to think I was inspecting her work or something. Prior to that, I asked her if they had an imported version of "Running With Scissors". She then gave me a copy, and told me it was imported. But seriously doubting it, I asked her how to find out if a DVD is imported or not, by just looking at the cover. She then explained some number codes on the spine that would identify locally-minted DVD's, and of course the features grid on the back art. Seeing that the copy she gave me had the indications of being a local DVD, I pointed it out to her, and she admitted her mistake naman. Anyway, I don't think it was a deliberate mistake, since she was running all around the store, clearly overwhelmed by all the customers rummaging through her company's goods.

Maybe because, like me, most have picked it up during previous sales when it was 650 or so...

I also got a copy of Running With Scissors and I'm 200% sure it's imported tho I haven't opened it yet.  You can easily spot the imported from the budget by just looking at the exterior casing .  The printing on almost all budget dvds have this blurry, smudgy look. It's really crude.  And the paper is not glossy.

On the other hand, one of the characteristics of an imported dvd is the presence of a red & black  "no copying" icon on the extreme lower portion at the back.  And of course, you also have to trust that gut feeling that it's authentically not budget hehehe.

I was supposed to get Pirates Of the Carribean: World's End 2 Disc - but unfortunately it was gone Friday night. Sayang I didn't know they restocked early the next morning. So I got myself Aliens Special Edition for P150. I thought it was 2 disc kasi nakalagay dun sa sticker with the price code... hindi pala. Sigh.

Nice haul a.

Agahan nyo dun mamaya, Boss Dan. hehehe, para kakaunti pa lang tao.  Was at Podium at around 1030AM yesterday kaya d pa madugo. AM also thinking of going back today.  Hirap talaga itong "sakit" natin  ;D

Happy hunting sa last day ng sale.  ;)

I wasn't able to go back anymore, settled for the Astro sale at SM Southmall (which is nearer).

I don't think it's a "sakit"  ;D I just like watching movies as much as reading books. It just so happens I have a lot of DVDs as well as books.  ;D Hobby ba talaga? Hehe.

yup.. salamat sa inyo dito for the information on the sale.
have never seen such price cuts... first time for me to buy 10 or more discs.

i also went to southmall, told the saleslady that i came from podium. i asked them why they could not lower the price as much as podium did. she just smiled. anyway, was able to buy 3 discs pa rin naman from them saturday night.

like some people here, exceeds budget already! ;)

bought the nativity story disc. it says it contains 2-disc for both widescreen and full screen ed. it only contained one, got the widescreen version. :( hindi na ako umabot sa "the Passion", ubos na daw. did anyone here get it?
thanks. god bless.

We have to date claimed & given away some 100 Jolli spaghettis already, ROFL.

Great haul but I wished I hauled more!
