is "kakabakaba ka ba" available in *any* format?
« on: Mar 01, 2002 at 11:40 AM »
hi everyone,

first time posting here... am desperate already. :( does anyone know where i can get a copy of this film by mike de leon? my mother was in it (small role - i think she was some sort of mamasan), and am sort of aching to see it again, now that i'm old enough to probably understand what was going on (i was too young back then). i also have no way of watching this film in the various film festivals that it has been shown in because i am not in the philippines.

any help would be much much appreciated... and thank you for reading...

:)

Hi, Pinya!

Kakabakaba Ka Ba? was released on Beta and VHS in the early 80s, but I haven't seen it rereleased since then. Old rental shops here might have it, but I'm sure the copies are really bad by now.

You could ask a friend to tape it for you, since the Philippine cable channel Cinema One shows it on a regular basis.

BTW, who's your mom?  :)

Hi pinyapple!  Welcome to PinoyDVD. :D

I think that "Kakaba Ka Ba?" was produced by LVN Pictures.  If this is accurate, you may want to visit www.lvnpictures.com and try to contact them and ask about the film or how to get a copy.

Hope this helps. :)

Hey man, where are you at ? I do have a copy of it on VHS which my friend recorded from Cinema One. I can make one for you. Send me a PM and we'll work out the details ... that is if you are in the US.

Makiki-angkas na rin ako.  I'm also desperately looking for a VHS or DVD of this movie.  I've nagged my sister in Manila long enough and she has given up on this topic.

I'm located in the San Francisco area, so, any help or leads is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
