I have heard the CXA60 hooked up to a pair of KEF R floor standers and they sing beautifully. It produces just about the right bass (maybe more) i have been yearning for.

I have been itching to upgrade my 651A back to NAD but it made me realize maybe it was the speaker matching that was missing all this time....

Hi! What is the best speaker match for Cambridge Audio? I just got a used Azur 650A and it seems the highs from my old amp (very old Marantz) are missing. I am using a budget Wharfedale 121. Any suggestions? Nothing expensive of course as I am just starting out in this very satisfying 'hobby" of members here. thanks!

I would recommend to fully break in the unit if new.
From Experience, CA provides a brighter SQ than Marantz which is often very warm.
I find it unusual if CA is warm and I am thinking maybe just needs break-in.

I'm using rti a3 w/ Cambridge azur. Ok naman though I don't have audiophile ears.

Thanks guys. The previous owner did say that the 650A was in storage for a while, so coolTOYZPH might be right in saying that I need to "break in" the unit. I will also look into the other suggestions. In the mean time, do you know a speaker that can bring out the sound of cymbals more? Please forgive if this post is confusing. Thanks again.

Do the tone controls help?

I believe Watts HiFi is selling a used MS Mezzo 2 from a member here. I suggest giving it a try.

Found the culprit. I got the wires mixed up while bi-wiring at the speakers. I now have individual wires running from the speakers to both A & B connections of the Cambridge. Sounds a lot better :-)

From what I've heard, MS company has already closed and Cambridge has their own speaker line that they are promoting. Mezzo line is phased out, so pre-loved units are your best bet. Yes, I have to say they are a safe match for CA being under one umbrella. You can also try Tannoy which are relatively priced almost the same as the Mezzos.
