Are these Filipino film titles?

Yup!  Funny how it sounds but all 3 are indeed film titles of Filipino movies shown before  :)

I wish they would release more Sampaguita and LVN classics on DVD, movies from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

[url]http://www.cinefilipino.com/[/ur] is starting to do just that.

I think Criterion should really try checking out Philippine cinema and select a few films to Criterionize.

So sad, that these movies will never see the light of day here at our local stores .... pati nga ang recently released  "City After Dark" wala ako makita sa local market eh.  :'(

Does anyone know where to get it? Besides sa internet?

I wish Criterion would add a few Filipino titles in their roster of films. They've got movies from all around the world, why not the Philippines as well?

I'd probably recommend: Maynila sa Kuko Ng Liwanag, Oro, Plata, Mata or any Mike de Leon piece.

When did Astro video stores released Manila By Night?

As someone who's at an Astro shop 3-4 times a week, I think never.

Unless branches other than Megamall, Podium and V-Mall got it.  ???

I've been watching Cinema One lately... and would like to get a copy of Himala.

Speaking of Himala is there a thread about the Experimental Cinema of the Philippines? I would like to know about it.
