They upgraded my digibox. Defintely better than the previous one. Small footprint similar to abs black box but with hdmi and toslink. Will try the toslink later if it can decode Dolby digital transmission. Will try the USB later as well if it can play *.mkv movie files.

These 2 features were not available b4.

May I ask WHY did they upgraded your DigiBox? any problems with the older box?

My old digibox could not transmit any signal to the TV thru HDMI but has still power and channel selection is operational since we can see the display changing while browsing. Skycable just replaced it rather than repairing it.

Channel selection has no noticeable lag, but it was also ok on the old box.

mas slim pala cya compared to abs black box. I like this one a lot... Its a space saver

The only thing i don't like about sky is the payment of 250 monthly for the additional boxes. Sana they lower the price or make it 2 free per household. Other than that im very happy.

buti nga wala bayad yung first digibox, sa cignal you have to pay 199/month for the first digibox while you are a subscriber

Ya the first one is free sa sky. Ang hirap kasi siempre we want to watch in our bedroom, kids room and living room. Sana 100 pesos lang per box. hehe..they are already making so much money from us.

Actually im paying 3 extra boxes. There are two things in life that i will really spend on. Cable tv and electricity for aircon. 2 things i cant live without them hehe. Its too hot in the phils. Hehe

Yes hd na. Actually one time payment installation yun hd. Sometimes they have promo 999 or 1999. Dati parang 3000. Pero bumaba na ata. Pero after this one time payment kahit ilan boxes puede ka, all kasama the hd na. 250 lang a month for extention boxes.

When is its effectivity? Im on dual def plan 549 pero wala parin kami nickelodean at bbc sa package namin.. Still e16-4 parin nakalagay

Walang nickelodeon and bbc sakin, i'm on plan 549. Nung may promo channels last week naka open din yang 2 channels, but after the promo nawala na din.

i always hear gma complaining about sky tweaking their channel. up to now, not proven to be true.

It's possible if their back-end infrastructure our source feed is satellite based. Garbage in, garbage out.

This is a milestone for ABS-CBN - the other leading local TV company (GMA and TV5) must follow this direction.
OT: if ABS-CBN will start brodcasting in HD, they will have to upgrade/equipt their "mahiwagang box" HDMI port.

What is the difference between the dual def 549 / month with the dual def that comes with the 1749 bundle (4mbps + dual def)?

Their site shows the bundle comes with the dual def 549 less 2 channels? What are those and why?
