Yah need mo kmuha ng plan before you can get the HD and the minimum plan you should get is plan 499. Meron clang promo ewan ko lang if it is valid pa until now sa plan 280 pde k kmuha ng HD.

I recently applied for Sky Cable last Dec 28, 2011

Initial installation fee is 2,000 pesos (with SD digibox), no refund though, pero no lock-in period.

Plan kinuha ko is 499 pesos.

Then 1st week ng Jan, I called Sky Cable customer service para to inquire about the HD service.

Then they said may promo sila na free upgrade from SD digibox to Coship HD digibox, no need to pay additional 3,000 pesos for the HD box.

Pero naka package na HD channel is the REVOLUTION pack, which is 299 a month (on top of my 499/month), locked-in for 1 year...which is not bad if you enjoy watching HD.

Kahapon ikinabit yung HD box (Coship), kinuha nila yung existing digibox ko then pinalitan ng HD box for FREE.

Channels are

FOX HD
FOX CRIME HD
FOX FAMILY MOVIES HD
FOX PREMIUM MOVIES HD
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL HD
STAR WORLD HD

Wow this sounds interesting. What are the other connection options at the back of the HD box aside from HDMI? Is there also rca out for audio?

Hi Sir, yes there is a RCA connection po, may Spdif (optical) out din Sir.

Complain ko lang, I can't seem to decode the audio to 5.1 e. I've tried direct HDMI to my receiver ayaw, also thru optical cable ayaw din. Setting ko naman sa audio ng HD box is AC3 (5.1 naman yun d b?), kasi 2 options lang setting sa audio (PCM & AC3).

Pero I can't seem to decode the Dolby 5.1 na sound.

If you're saying po Sir is you want 2 HD box po, they don't allow it po sa package nung FREE HD box. may bayad na daw po ng 3,000 pesos para sa 2nd HD box yun Sir. I've inquired na rin po kasi about that e..ganun po sabi nila.

HD programs that are/have been shown on ch.167 (BallsHD):

UAAP & NCAA basketball, Azkals matches, Grand Slam tennis matches, Manny Pacquiao PPV bouts, UEFA CL Final, FIFA World Cup Finals, Golf tournaments.

ch.167 is not a 24/7 channel.

I inquired sa Skycable regarding this. Default is Revolution pack. Sabi nung CSR is I can get the Revo pack (1 year lock in period) para waived yung HD Box fee tapos after 1 month, upgrade to Power Pack (899) and dun magstart ulit yung 12 month lock-in period.

Can anyone who've tried this confirm if this is true?

in my situation, dahil mahina yung signal ng cable tv sa bahay namin, instead of using the cable that's plugged in sa TV namin, what they did is use the cable that's plugged in sa internet modem namin and split it para malagay sa HDBOX.

may analog signal parin kami sa TV namin kasi may sariling cable parin na nakakabit for TV and then yung broadband cable and split sa modem and HDBOX which is then connected sa TV through HDMI.

i don't know if they'll allow you to split your analog cable because i think hihina yung signal ninyo, or another reason too.

presently kasi naka SD box ako then I found out na gumagana pa yung analog although di lahat ng channel nakukuha.
ang isa ulit na tanong ko, kung mababago ba yung channel line up ng analog pag nag upgrade ako from SD to HD?, although expected ko naman in the future tatanggalin na rin yung analog. TIA.

Hope you can help me now... how come I am paying more than the 499 for SD? I think almost a thousand then they added the 299 for HD and another charge for an extension drop to a second LED monitor.

If I upgrade beyond the REVO pack, what would that be called and what's the HD line-up? Would that mean I also need to continue to pay for the GOLD (not sure how it is called) on the SD line-up?

yup, pwede yun even earlier, nagawa ko na sa amin yun, after a week i decided to get the full pack, pumayag naman sila.

I think we have been paying 999 sa SkyCable since the start for the 1st TV and addtl 300 for every addtl TV since 2006. All have respective digiboxes.

Whats the difference with that plan 499? Eh lumalabas pang mas mura to get that 499 plan then add 299 for that HD pack with free HD box na.

Hi Tony,

Wife just informed me na you lose a lot of the channels from 999 Full SD pack if you switch to 499. I think what they did to you is to simply add 299 to your current 999 SD subscription. If you go beyond 299, meron daw 2 addtl hd channels for 499 and the full pack of 12 channels for 899. So if you dont mind losing some SD channels, then switch to 499 base subscription. My wife said, "no thanks"...hehehe

Ang di ko mag-getz, bakit libre HD box kung konti and then may bayad na 3K kung full set...eh mas mahal din naman ang subscription kung full HD set, and mababawi rin nila eventually sa subscription fee ang cost ng HD tuner.

oo nga, i feel that I am being with highway robbery... well better with this than having Mediascape (CignalTV) drop me a bombshell by dispatching their outsourced collectors to chase me for non-payment of services that they have not provided for more than a year. The message was sent to me this morning via sms.

I quickly replied back and pointed out that I reported the problem to Cignal people more than a year ago and did not hear back and since then the service has been dead.

I'll drop them off and just stick with Skycable (SD+HD) and my other reliable provider, Destiny
