Most recently viewed TV Shows
« on: Jun 04, 2008 at 09:16 AM »
I've been watching 2 British shows these past few weeks:

Quite Interesting - very informative, entertaining, quasi quiz show starring Stephen Fry and Alan Davis plus lots of British comedians as panels/contestants.

Grand Designs - if you're interested in building/renovating/designing homes, this is the one for you.

Sadly, it isn't in any local cable channel and I had to rely on my horrendously slow torrent downloads.  My solution is to leave my pc working 24/7.

Alfred Hitchcock Presents.  To my surprise, it was in black and white!  I was expecting the anthology that I saw years ago on ABC5.  I guess there's an older series and that happens to be what I downloaded.

Recently viewed --- Secret Diary of A Call Girl. Short season, 8 episodes 30 mins each for season 1. One sitting and it's done.  Hardly noticed the time while watching. It was FUN! The character reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and The City), except Hannah/Belle is funnier, smarter, sexier, younger and has way more class, inspite of her job. :D

LOL! http://www.sarahjessicaparkerlookslikeahorse.com/ - Sayang, they had to close the site daw. ;D Poor Sarah.

Also recently watched - Genius of Photography. Which ran on NatGeo but couldn't follow the sched. It wasn't for me, but I watched it anyway, learned something, enjoyed something. ;)

Fallen - also couldn't follow the sched on Studio23....so...

And just because of the upcoming movie ---  a couple of the first few episodes of Get Smart, which I sometimes watched while it was on Star World before.

I wish we can access Hulu. :-\

One of my favorite jokes on the short-lived flop "The Help" was a scene where Antonio Sabato Jr. was concerned because he was... "in an aroused state." To solve the problem, he began imagining "Sarah Jessica Parker" and within seconds... problem solved.  ;D

Donnie Darko -- have heard a lot about this movie but finally got to watch it. Love these mindF**k movies!

Lost -- fourth season was revealing and included probably the best episode ever of the series (The Constant), excellent writing and acting. Still the best show on TV now.

Hell's Kitchen 4 and the first season of Flipping Out. I am highly anticipating the premier of I Survived a Japanese Game Show, which will debut next week. From the title alone, I think it's going to be hilarious.

I've seen the pre-air of FRINGE, promising.

Watching now EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION

I've downloaded and watched 3 episodes of this TV series.  Aside from piquing my interest in architecture and renovations, all the three episode made me cry!!!

The premise is to build a new home for a family in need within 7 days.  The family needs to apply or someone apply on their behalf.

The three episode I saw:
1.  Rogers family in Alaska - single mom with 7 children had to take in his brother (with his own 3 children) who is undegoing dialysis weekly.  They live in a 900 square foot house.  If you're not familiar with square footage, that almost 90 square meters only, for 13 people!  The family is a joy to watch, full of love with each other and admiration to the mother.

2.  Guinta Family in Massachussetts - a near fatal accident on the day of the birth of their third child left the husband paralized.  Their home is not disabled friendly and for the last two years, they haven't live on the same roof.

3. Usea of New Orleans - A family of volunteer firefighters in New Orleans lost their home in Typhoon Katrina.

Can''t wait for me to finish downloading the other episodes.

Pretty Handsome is, well, pretty awesome. Superbly written, tastefully directed, and very, very cerebral. I love that it deals with a very controversial topic and yet manages not to sensationalize it.

Just finished watching Leverage. Predictable heist/con of the week formula. But looks interesting enough for me to watch the first season.

Just finished the first season of The Big Bang Theory. Geeky comedy that I hope doesn't go stale in the second season (I doubt it will).

"That's how we roll in the Shire..." priceless $hit!
