the novatron NTD38 have an mkv support. popcorn hour, egreat, tVix Dvico 5100SH

all these players tho dont have DTS Support. they only have Dolby Decoding.

no DTS sound will come out in your movies if your mkv files audio is DTS.
unless you have DTS Receiver/Amp Decoder

Oh, FYI: eSata on the EG-31b performs at ~40MBs.  Not as fast as the eSata dock (40-100 MB/sec) but still respectable.  Compared to 24-27 MB/sec for USB 2.0 -- the time savings is substantial.

Oh, regarding the On/Off via remote on the A-100, has anybody gotten it to work?  It might be a bit off the 'spirit' of this thread, but I can only get the PCH to do a 'hard' off, which cannot be turned back on.

The PCH casing is made from aluminium I think.  Not too sure though.

Oh yeah, incidentally, we noticed that the "DTS board" provision on the EG-31b is all but gone :P  So no more add-on DTS Board, which is pretty much moot anyway, seeing that we'll get DTS decoding via firmware update son.

Yep, you need to get the NTD38 model that surely plays MKV files...

jackryan, your disclosure makes you this board's undisputed nmt guru  ;).  So Novatron is best.  Can you explain the advantages of Egreat over PCH and Novatron over Egreat.  :)

sorry bro... i don't think I am at that level at all... my reference guru is Doc Alfie and a number of other folks here... :-)
At best I am just like you guys a now certified HD content addict, now going to my 4th TB pretty soon hahaha... addict!!!

Business strategy dictates that they first sell off their egreat stocks before ordering competing products otherwise they might not be able to sell out egreat.  MPC Club highly favors HDX although both HDX and Egreat are Editor's Choice. :)

You are probably right, but knowing Richie, they will go for cutting edge gadgets. They started off with Popcorn's and yet that didn't stop them from also pushing Egreat's.

Good point there tony. They really have CUTTING EDGE gadgetry. What I loved the most aside from the NMTs is the LOGITECH G25 Driving wheel. I adore it. Downside is I don't have space for it. And most of all TIME. maybe during the holidays.

We may (or may not) see HDX sooner when the group buy of egreat 31b pushed through.  If you notice, there are those who listed in the group buy of PCH A110 transferring to Egreat 31B.  The list of Egreat is fast filling up in just a matter of days while that of PCH has been in a while already.  Just imagine what will happen if these local sellers would offer HDX while they haven't completely disposed their stocks...they'll be issuing their own death warrants since a lot would rather wait for HDX which is cheaper and built with better materials.  eSATA in egreat would then be its only selling point while PCH's selling point is its popularity. MPC Comparison: http://mpcclub.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=669

Pls don't get me wrong, I have egreat 31b and am satisfied with it.  I don't care about other NMTs as long as I'm enjoying mine. Maybe in a few weeks or months, there'll be another NMT with built-in wifi, DVD rom drive, firewire, usb, eSATA, bluetooth, memory card reader, touch screen interface and et cetera. NO sense waiting for the best when the good ones are locally available 'coz we'll end up not buying anything at all.  ;D  Kaya bili bili na ng egreat.  Highly recommended! :)

To be completely honest, I am eyeing on also getting that unit (the NMX). I wanted to use it for another set-up.

After that pretty soon will check myself in for some professional help... hahaha.

ignoring the looks and extra features, all NMT players should perform the same  ;D
they have the same engine, only using different housings  :)

Yup I agree.  All these NMTs use Syabas software.  Thus, their usage are still the same.

Question for those who have both an Xbox1 with XBMC and an NMT (PCH/EGreat/etc):

Is your NMT as easy to use as XBMC?  Is your NMT a good replacement for XBMC?

the novatron NTD38 have an mkv support. popcorn hour, egreat, tVix Dvico 5100SH

all these players tho dont have DTS Support. they only have Dolby Decoding.

no DTS sound will come out in your movies if your mkv files audio is DTS.
unless you have DTS Receiver/Amp Decoder

I think the PCH A110 has DTS support. The only one with DTS support.
