Any feedback on the NR-1509? Thinking of getting it over the Denon X540-BT but not sure if the almost twice the price is worth it. Will be using it for music just as much as movies, piped in from just a USB stick.

May I know if anyone has the Marantz cr611 media receiver? How is it based on sound quality  and performance?

Thanks.

I have SR5012. In terms of music sound quality, it's good. Music better than other AVRs I auditioned, Yamaha, Denon; Onkyo has the worst music (656). NAD was slightly better, but I felt the price difference was too much from what I was hearing, and is still a far cry from my hifi setup. Home theater, can't really compare since I auditioned using Music, but I'm satisfied with what I have. A friend of mine got the 1609, and it sounds similar (didn't do an A-B though, just basing on what I felt) upon retrospect, I should've gone the same route since I don't really drive the volume up.

My main complaint though, and this might be isolated to my setup: AVR <> LG B6P HDMI ARC with the TV as the source, if I lose power (unplug) or if I do an update, the simplink connection is still there, but no output in sound. I have to manually go to speaker setup, switch front speakers from large to small, and then small back to large, before I get output again. I say it might be my setup because I can stream music from spotify with no problem when this happens, so only issue is with the ARC I think.

Another minor complaint is more with the HEOS app, after a while, I cannot control the volume anymore with the app, and is only "synced" if I power off or update. Oh, and the HEOS app isn't so good, it works, but I find the Blusound app much much better.

Suddenly lost audio on my airplay capable Marantz receiver. Did not make any changes on the network and setup. Tried unplugging both end of the LAN cable and reconnecting it worked one time but after a day, I lost audio again. Disconnecting/reconnecting the LAN cable does not work this time. The ios device detects the networked receiver and is showing as connected on both device (receiver and phone) but no audio comes out. I've also tried resetting the receiver as well as restarting the modem/router. Still no audio. Any one encountered this?

Resolved the issue by disconnecting the speakers and resetting the receiver to factory default. I'm suspecting the culprit might be the speaker connection.

I recently got the Marantz NR1200 - HiFi network receiver ... paired it with MartinLogan Motion 20 floor standers ... I'm very satisfied with the sound quality, very pleasant to the ears, you can practically listen for hours without tiring ... good thing about the NR1200 is that it has all the possible digital source input - streaming apps, USB, network media servers/storage, and bluetooth ... only con is the Heos app - still needs some refinement as it is slow and sometimes takes some time to connect to the device
Marantz NR1200, MartinLogan Motion 20 digital audio setup, and Sony A80J

got the 2020 NR1711 last 13-Jan  ^-^

all I could say is despite its mid-height design and 50W into 8ohms power, my MA Bronze 5 floorstanders are still busog... now I could attest to the musicality of the Marantz (I could hear sonic differences with my past 3 Onkyos (RZ-NR-RZ, models in these successions) and I do like the Marantz to match better with my MA Bronze)

with its native 7ch amplification on movies (DD+Atmos, THD Atmos & DTS:X), it's not underpowered for its 50W 8ohms 2ch specs.  I could set it with the proper volume and still gets the same loudness that I want and when I need it.  with my past 3 Onkyos, I need to raise their center channel volume to max in order to compensate the dialogues to mix with other channels.  but with this NR1711, yes I still find the need to raise it, but I'm already good upto +4 only.

all are still under manual configurations with an all flat-EQ settings per channel.  I am yet to check what results it would give me when I run it with Audyssey  + set the speakers/channels with an individual EQ +- tuning :)
