Guys, I currently have a Probox 4-bay attached to my media player.

It currently houses 3pcs of 4TB HDD and 1pc of 3TB HDD. All are Green WDs.

1. Would I encounter compatibility issues if I replace the Green 3TB with a Red or Purple 4TB?

2. Would you guys recommend Red or Purple?

3. Best type of HDD for home theater application?

i recently bought a external seagate slim 2 tb, hindi mabasa ng Mede8er 500 ko. Anybody have this experience? I don't have any problems with 2tb externals before, whether wd or seagate.

usb powered ba yung external seagate? meron kasi media player di kaya ang usb powered

Kung minsan sa usb port ang may diprensiya. Pag di kaagad magbasa yung media player di ko sinasagad yung pagkasaksak ng usb cable sa usb slot ng player and ini-slide ko paunti-unti until babasahin na and mag-flicker yung led lamp ng hdd.

Yes sir usb powered. I have wd or yun mga dating seagate na puro usb powered basta 2tb ok naman. Binabasa. Ito lang slim ayaw. When i connect to the computer ok naman. Ayaw talaga sa mede8er 500.

WD Green wasn't really phased out. WD just merged both the green and blue into just the blue drives in a re-branding exercise. If you want drives with 5400rpm look for the letter Z in the part number.
