Das Leben Der Anderen (The Lives Of Others) in mkv - this movie will either make you sleep or make you appreciate the genius of filmmaking, story-telling and acting. The most nerve-wracking moments were presented with minimal action and the story build up was so subtle, not to mention the dialogue is in German. Yet put them all together, it turned a lazy, sleepy Sunday afternoon into a highly emotional, bun-stuck-on-the-sofa moment. The eye movements of the main character alone were enough to convey the emotion up to the very end. Outstanding movie.
Der Untergang (Downfall) in mkv - the final days of Hitler in his bunker. Quite interesting from a historical standpoint. Hitlet - sick, delusional, betrayed, abandoned yet remained a powerful, single-minded and full of pride character up to the very end. Quite a genius (Hitler) if his ultimate plans were actually feasible at that time - staying in Berlin to lure the Red Army closely around Berlin - and then crushing them from behind by elite German divisions (who were nearly non-existent already). The actress who portrayed the role of his young secretary has gorgeous face.
Couldnt get enough of excellent foreign films.
