i was able to catch up with the replay on channel 23 UFC Versus

kongo and barry fight was probably the best i have seen, barry was very agressive and have heavy hands landing a solid punch on kongo outting the guy to one of his knees, barry then threw barrage of punches to a point that the ref almost stopped the fight but lo and behold as barry was approaching kongo in the hope of finishing him off, kongo landed a puch on the side of the head then another solid punch around the jaw area that put barry to sleep. i was scared at how barry looked liked after he fell, tirik halos ang mata

just watched the you tube link above and amazing comeback in deed! ;D hopefully, in the next pay per view there will be another fight like this. Boring kasi lately un fight sa PPV. :(

the fight between cruz and feber(or is it faber) is one of the best i have seen. action from start to finish without let up. if these two are of the same weight class as diego snaches and guida, im sure any of the four guys figthing either shluld be good to watch too.

I wasnt expecting ortiz at all to win but it seems ryan bader has taken him lightly, ortiz indeed made shortwork of bader saving his job

wanderlei silva must be on his way out too, that was one quick fight.

by the way, the figth this august looks good, phil davis vs rashard evans. will the winner get to fight john jones?

frankie edgar is also injured. he pulled out of the maynard fight. silva is also injured with a bruised rib from the chael sonnen fight ;D so he claims.

http://www.fightersonlymagazine.co.uk/news/viewarticle.php?id=6802

It wasn’t a rib injury that pulled Frankie Edgar out of his UFC 130 fight with Gray Maynard, although a troublesome vertebrae was a factor. Contrary to earlier reports, the main reason he pulled out was a back injury that has been a long-term problem for the UFC lightweight champion.

“All of the reports are talking about my ribs, it’s actually my back. My back’s been bothering me for quite some time. A few weeks ago I had to take a week off so that my back could calm down and I was trying to fight through it. I got through it and it kept blowing out on me here and there but then I ended up blowing out a rib last week,” he explained to UFC.com

“My rib kept popping in and out and then last week my back went out on me really bad, so I went to see a doctor and he said I’ve got bulging discs and now I’m going to go see a specialist to see what he can do about it.”

Edgar saw the UFC doctor and was told he had two bulging discs. He told UFC.com that he presently “can’t even put my socks on or hold my kids” and conducted the interview while lying on the living room floor as it was the only posture that “doesn’t cause [me] pain”.

Fedor coming off of 2 straight losses, pero malay natin baka me ibubuga pa. Sino kaya mananalo  ???

In other news:

Strikeforce reportedly cuts Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem

After being removed from the Strikeforce Heavyweight World Grand Prix earlier this month for being unable to fight by the Showtime set date of Sept. 10, Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem has been released from the organization entirely.

According to a report from HDNet's Inside MMA, Strikeforce officials exercised an option to cut a fighter with one fight remaining in their contract, though no details have yet emerged as to why the decision was made.

Overeem said in interviews earlier this month that a toe injury, along with being told a different date for the semifinals, led to him not being able to compete on the Sept. 10 card, where the semifinals of the tournament will be held. However, the Inside MMA report states that he also is suffering from an injured rib and an issue with his elbow as well. Furthermore, a new episode of his online documentary series "The Reem" reveals that he had an injured rib coming out of his quarterfinal win over Fabricio Werdum in June.

Additionally, Overeem's camp Golden Glory announced that the heavyweight would be competing on their October event, outside of Zuffa control.

Overeem captured the Strikeforce Heavyweight Title in 2007 with a victory over Paul Buentello. However, he's defended it just once, a May 2010 victory over Brett Rogers, and he's fought just twice in the organization since he won the belt.

thanks for the link! wow! it was a great fight but sadly ended by a great punch by henderson.. i hope Fedor won't retire after this! I want him to fight either Cain Velasquez or Brock Lesnar before he does retire. ;)

i agree fedor should not retire. he should give himself maybe 6 months of heavy workout and remove that beer belly and try to move down to LHW.

then sign with UFC. lol.

nung dumating kasi si fedor sa US yung management nya feeling nila he's unbeatable and demanded too much. ngayon time to lower their heads and accept an offer from UFC if there is one. hehe.

Of course iba naman 'yung punches ni Hendo, they call it H Bomb now a days sa SF.

: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5K0OJ6-aauo

agree ako sa article na ito:

Strikeforce Fedor Vs. Henderson Results: Bad Stoppage Mars What Might Have Been An Epic

Jul 31, 2011 - The greatest fighter in heavyweight history went down for the third time in a row. It's hard to watch heroes fall, and worse, if it was his last fight, he didn't get to go out on his shield like a true warrior. Instead, referee Herb Dean botched what might be the end of a legendary career. Dean leaped between Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson in the middle of a scramble after Henderson had rocked Fedor with a right uppercut.

Fedor may have been out briefly, but looked coherent and was jockeying for position as Dean stepped in. To make matters worse, the stoppage was prompted by two hard and potentially illegal punches to the back of the head by Henderson. Showtime's announcing team of Mauro Ranallo, Frank Shamrock, and Gus Johnson never once mentioned the questionable legality of the blows, either while waiting what felt like forever for a replay of the finish, or after they were shown in gruesome slow motion.

Emelianenko deserves better. All fighters do, but great champions even more so. If it's time for Fedor to walk away it should be unambiguous. This was far from it. Before the stoppage the two men were battling blow for blow. Who knows what would have happened next? We've certainly seen Fedor come back from the brink of disaster, most notably against Kevin Randleman. We've also seen Henderson have a fighter nearly out, like Jake Shields, only to allow him to come back and win.

I wanted to know which fighter was the better man last night. We never found out. The fans and the fighters both deserve better.

^ I agree. Katulad na lang ng laban ni Cheick Kongo and Pat Barry, kung nagkaroon ng early stoppage eh 'di sana walang ganun kaganda na comeback fight or 'yung laban ni Lesnar vs Carwin.

bilib din ako kay Hendo, at 40 years old he's still rockin!
