Lyoto Machida replaces Vitor Belfort in UFC 173 main event against Chris Weidman

Less than 24 hours after the Nevada State Athletic Commission moved to abolish testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), Vitor Belfort has withdrawn from his scheduled title match at UFC 173.

In Belfort's stead, No. 3 ranked UFC middleweight contender Lyoto Machida will now challenge Chris Weidman for the middleweight title in UFC 173's main event.

UFC officials announced the news on a late-Thursday night edition of FOX Sports Live.

^ Napanood ko kanina around 4AM. Mukhang wala pang budget si Eddiva para sa fighting short or wala pa siguro sponsor. Eddiva is strong, kaya lang kahit mukhang lamang sya sa striking sa kalaban nya kanina mas pinili nya mag clinch at mag take-down, muntik na tuloy sya ma-triangle choke.

We have a new Welterweight Champ in the UFC. Congrats Johny Hendricks!

Lawler almost got the belt, konti na lang, kinapos pa. Nawala din angas ni Hendricks sa striking, in the end nag rely din sya sa wrestling, if not for that single take-down in the 5th round, I think tabla 'yung laban or me-pagkatalo pa si Hendricks dun.

Sayang, na injured si Condit, maganda sana 'yung laban nila ni Tyron Woodley.

Was finally able to watch the whole event. Sayang yung kay Lawler. Naubusan lang talaga. And if not for the last take down baka naiba pa kinalabasan

I thought Lawler's game plan was to tire Hendricks out, nagpasuntok ng nagpasuntok si Lawler kay Hendricks, kaya after round 2 wala ng sting yung punches ni Hendricks, tinatawanan na lang ni Lawler, kaso kinapos din Lawler pagdating ng last round.

Injured si Hendricks ngayon, out for 2 to 3 months.

Another great fight from Dan Henderson and Shogun Rua. I thought Shogun would win this time, muntikan na si Henderson sa round 1 & 2, but the H-Bomb connected right on the nose of Shogun, nabali ilong ni Rua. Tapos ang boxing!

boss tirso, cris "cyborg" santos is the former strikeforce bantamweight champ. she is the one who defeated gina carano and claims that she was the one responsible for gina's retirement. cyborg, some says, could be the greatest threat to ronda's throne. however, it seems that cris is a little above ronda's weight class plus the fact that she is with the other promotion that is why getting them to fight would seem improbable. but there are news that cris is now trying to cut weight in preparation for this much anticipated bout even claiming that if this fight happens, she will retire ronda as she did to gina.

I thought Travis Browne would just KO Fabricio Werdum, but Werdum just toyed with Browne. Nawala 'yung yabang ni Browne who was the one who started the taunting, noong makatikim na sya ng striking at take-downs ni Werdum, tameme na sya. Naalala ko nga pala, Werdum submitted Fedor, isa sa pinakamagaling na heavyweights dati, kaya bale wala na sa kanya 'yung striking prowess ni Browne.

Werdum now is the challenger for the UFC HW Belt, he will fight Cain Velasquez next.

im glad werdum took his striking far. Hopefully Maia will follow suit. Ganda ng resulta ng gameplan AT execution. I think it was the early body kicks that sealed the win and his footwork that prevented a loss
