Still no DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD audio passthrough.

And yes, I'm going to keep complaining about this until it's resolved regardless of whatever background contractual crap you say is going on (should have been resolved before launch). It was, and still is, listed as a feature on your main site after all and was one of the main reasons I bought the Xtreamer.

So xtreamer now fails in all 3 main areas for a High Definition capable media box:

1) Video - Lack of "DTS MA or Dolby TrueHD audio passthrou" - Other boxes can, you've got the license whats the problem now ?

2) Music - No playback via upnp and no new (promised) Music Jukebox

3) Photos - Constantly going into slideshow mode. Basic in the extreme.

I've had several family and friends ask me for a modern media playback box, I can't honestly recommend xtreamer as a total solution at this point. That's an embarrassing state to be in this far down the f/w revision line!

please please please please please please fix something worthwhile !

oh well... till next FW release...

A FW v2.1.2 is in the works (as mentioned in the same forum) although no specific date of release. It should be quick, as this releases are usually fixes for the bug that has not been fixed by the major 2.1 release and fixes for the new ones introduced also.

Bakit 2.0.1 lang yung latest FW na listed sa xtreamer.net?

Yung sa akin 2.0.2 ang installed FW (stock) pero wala rin yun sa website nila.

 ???

Medyo tinatamad na nga ako mag-upgrade ng firmware since 2.0.0 kasi parang wala rin naman use for me yung mga changes  ;D

Got my unit this afternoon, through the kindness of sir Eric (Bitstream).  I immediately went to CDR-King to purchase their HDD Docking Station.  P580 lang, eSata and USB2, and works well with the Xtreamer and my 1Tb drive.

Wow!  It works with a 1TB HDD?  I wonder why cd-r king lists it as maxing out at 500GB?

Is your 1TB HDD full already?

Sir Bitstream / Xtreamer Owners,

I just purchased this unit yesterday and tested it last night.

I encountered some issues when testing this unit to my 24" 1080p LCD monitor and Panasonic AX200 Projector.

I have a 5-meter HDMI cable (worth 600 pesos) connected from my PC to my 24" 1080p LCD monitor. The display setting on my PC is set to 1080p.  It plays 1080p mkv files flawlessly.  I also use this cable to connect my PC to my Panasonic AX200 Projector and I don't encounter any distortion or image quality issues even if I set my PC display setting to 1080p.

I unhooked the 5-meter HDMI cable from the back of my PC and connected it to my new Xtreamer unit.  The display on my 24" LCD monitor was distorted when it is set to 1080p (60Hz/50z), and no display when connected to my projector.

No display issues on both LCD monitor and projector when Xtreamer is set to 720p. I tried using the short HDMI cable bundled with my Xtreamer and it worked fine at 1080p/720p.

How come my 5-meter HDMI cable works fine at 1080p when connected to my PC but not with Xtreamer? ???

The cable we provided is HDMI 1.3a–compliant; though I’m not sure if this has any bearing on your issue.

I don’t have enough info on your 5m HDMI cable, so I can’t comment.  You may want to try borrowing a different model of 5m cable to see if the problem persists.

You may as well try updating your Xtreamer firmware to Ver 2.1.1, just in case it makes a difference.

Try checking out forum.xtreamer.net just in case there is a discussion on HDMI cable issues.

Let me know how it goes.

OT:  Yes, the CDRKing HDD docking station can handle 1Tb drives.  They're near-full.  I got the HDDs from sir Clondalkin earlier this year.  I suspect the packaging says 500Gb kasi either it was packaged back when 500Gb was the mainstream capacity, or there have been reported issues with some HDD with higher capacity.  I'm lucky my 1Tb WD Green drives are working well with the dock.

I've upgraded my Xtreamer to v2.1.1 this morning, and did a quick test in one of my files.  Ok naman, but I'll stress test it this weekend pa.

hmmm... seems like a handshake issue. as suggested by sir Eric( Bitstream), try using other 5meter HDMI cables.  ;)

I don't bother to upgrade FW anymore (stuck myself to 2.0)..I hoped to high for this product and one of the early buyers (high price)..still a great player for movies..but what I want is the one stated by keeper..its that selling point which is why I opted to buy this..

i'll just be patient and hopefully it pays off..

NFS issues with FW Ver 2.0 and 2.0.1
« Reply #620 on: Dec 16, 2009 at 09:25 PM »
If you decide to stick with FW Ver 2.0 or 2.0.1, take note that sharing
your drive(s) over NFS protocol opens you up to potential loss of data.
No problem if you're employing Samba share(s).

Some feedback on the Xtreamer.

My copy of Back to the Future 1 has lots of jitters/flickers or whatever you call it, and I've seen one flicker in the middle part of the screen in the first few minutes of 300 (the movie).  Also some minor flickers in Transformers 2 plus a scene where Sam's face (left part) appeared to have yellow neon paint on it.

Still, I'm adamant, despite my friend (who gave me the movies and who uses a WDTV Live) saying that he there are no such flickers on the said movies.  :((

Note that I'm using a 32LH70YR with Trumotion on (I think -- hehehe. di ko pa kasi ginalaw masyado, pero yung mga movies, parang documentary/LIVE ang dating, e, so I'm thinking Trumotion is ON by default).

Note that I'm using a 32LH70YR with Trumotion on (I think -- hehehe. di ko pa kasi ginalaw masyado, pero yung mga movies, parang documentary/LIVE ang dating, e, so I'm thinking Trumotion is ON by default).

with regards to the files you mentioned(except for Back to the Future), i didn't experience the jitters/flickers u stated. i have both the 720p 8Gb ( Imax Edition) and 42GB Transformers ROTF. the 300 file is 1080p.  ;)

have u tired turning off Trumotion?

I have Back to the Future .mkv (can't remember if it's 720p or 1080p) - no stutter, it plays perfectly.

Yes, no positive effect on Back to the future.  I'll test that Xformers 2 "neon yellow face" later with trumotion off.

Perhaps you have a different "version."  I'll post the media info later.  But I remember that it's supposed to be 720p, and it's 4GB in size (as Xtreamer reports it).

Also, please note that there are no problems with sound.  Only with the video.  I'll try recording it.  Shall I send to you, sir Eric?

If my friend only observed the same issue on his WDTV Live, since we have the same copy of BTTF, I'd be happy to live with this.

Perhaps I should try 2.1.2 FW...  What FW are you using, guys?
