Help on my Projector Project
« on: Sep 10, 2009 at 10:03 AM »
Just want to seek advice on my Projector project, I'm planning to buy one to replace my 32" LCD and place it in the living room for general viewing. D ko lang sure kung uubra since my room is quite small, 3m x 3m lang but dedicated HT room. And ang plan ko is to have a screen same size ng 32" LCD ko dati para hindi nakakaduling manood. Is it practical to proceed w/ my plans and kung ok, meron bang decent brands w/ a 30T and below price range w/ HDMI and Component input and maybe up to 720p reesulution. Thanks !

Bro, no offense but if you buy a projector and project only a 32'' image it defeats the purpose of the projector.
Which is to deliver a big picture and bring the "theatrical impact" to your home.

So IMO it's not practical.

If you can only go up to 32'' then I suggest you keep your LCD and spend your hard-earned cash elsewhere.  ;)

However, if you insist on buying a PJ I am selling a very good one for 25k

I agree whats the point of getting one if its the same size as your current lcd? Your LCD would even project a better picture than the projector.

Your room size could probably accomodate somewhere between 50-70" size screen.

84" 100" 120" 150" Motorized or Manual Projector Screens still available. Just pm.

its a waste of potential as brader juancho and sir pekspert said, for a 3 meter room, you should have you should have roughly 2 viewing distance, which is roughly 7 feet, if you proceed with a pj, then you can project as sir pekspert said around 70" screen (hindi pa nakakaduling yan, im viewing an 85" screen from 9.5 feet).

but you cant get a brand new 720p pj for 30k, pre-owned siguro. cheapest i have seen is this one:

http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php?topic=98197.0
maybe at cash you could get it at 37k.

or get brader juancho's sanyo. ganda yan.  ;)

but if you also use your 32" to play games and watch cable tv. i would advise you to just get an all around panel (lcd or plasma) a 42"-50". because playing games and watching cable might be possible for pjs but in the long run not very cost effective since bulbs cost 10k minimum a pop for 2-4 years use.

I URGE YOU TO admit that you're quite ready for giant screen projection. Hence, don't recapture that puny, laughable 32-inch LCD TV experience when going into HOME CINEMA. Take a front projector made precisely for home theater and film, and not for business presentation. Not something rated with SVGA, WXGA (with odd resolutions like 1024 X 960, or god forbid - 800 X 600), XGA or VGA. The moment you see and immerse yourself in that gigantic picture - your viewing perception will be altered forever.

I'm selling my MITSUBISHI HC3100. 720p DLP model with DARKCHIP 3 DMD video chip. 4,000 maximum Contrast, with Iris control. 400 native lumens. Projects up to 120 inches of gorgeous cinema. Only 300 hours of lamp-life, out of the maximum 3,000 hours. Original price: P98,000 - now selling for a mere P33,000. Certified Made In Japan, grey casing, 3 kilos in weight. With Component & HDMI. Used between April 2007 and February 2008, alternately between private film-viewing and church-fellowship film-showing. Give serious thought by personally demonstrating it. Satisfaction guaranteed, a Darkchip 3 model for a steal-away price. ALICE GO #09202-833-970.

LOL 32-inch projected image. When you go with a projector you should display at least 60-70 inches or more.

my viewing area is almost the same with the TS, and i'm watching at 90" at about 3m viewing distance. maliit pa yan. kapag galing nga ako sa sinehan at nanood agad ako sa bahay, bitin pa rin ang 90". sarap ng 120" siguro. as ma'am alice said, it will alter your viewing perception once you had the true large-format widescreen experience.  ;)

I just think that your room size couldn't maximize the use of a projector if you're just going to project a small image on your screen.

A good thing on small projected images though when using a pj is that videos & pictures tend to be sharper with better contrast and colors as compared to a larger projected image.

on second thought, mukhang nakumbinsi uli ako ng mga last post. Gusto ko rin talaga ma-experience ang projector on my simple and small HT room and cguro kung talagang andyan na un I can experiment on much bigger projected size na hindi nakakaduling. For movies lang naman talaga cya, gaming and cable TV is for LCD. Thanks again!

Another good thing about PJs is that if you need a bigger display, you can just adjust the lens of the pj or move it a little back and voila!  Compared to flat panels where you have to change the whole tv.
