LCD/Plasma as PC Monitor
« on: May 13, 2009 at 09:56 AM »
Im Planning to buy an LCD/Plasma TV. gagamitin ko as TV and PC monitor, Should I buy yung Full HD na or ok lang yung HD capable. Any recommended brand if ever? Thanks po! :)

Pero pag games and movies no problem.

go for fullhd kung gagamitin as pc monitor, masyadong mababa 1366x768 for 32" and up to be used as pc monitor. pero kung 10~30mins ka lang siguro sa tapos ng tv, pwede na, pero kung mga 1hr and up ka, baka sumakit mata mo..

This is actually a very good question,...

Resolution of the monitor will be reliant on the capability of the PC/Video card...

 ;)

it actually depends on the pc usage..

if only for browsing ang ms office usage, even a built in video can handle 1920x1080
for heavy gaming, you will need a gtx260/radeon 4870 or higher card for playing at 1920x1080

Try to verify also if the model you're interested in has true 1:1 pixel mapping on any of its outputs, para crisp and clear ang texts for PC usage - masakit sa mata kung may ghosting ang texts.

Im using 9800gt HDMI (mid-range) tingin ko kaya naman mag handle nito ng 1920x1080 resolution on the games that i play. Though Im not really a heavy gamer. Gusto ko lang na same TV n din ang gagamitin ko as PC monitor.

Thanks po sa lahat ng inputs. Anyways, any brand/model po na ma-rerecommend nyo?

If budget permits, go for full HD na. Pero ok na rin yung HD ready.

Im using my HP Slimline PC with my Philips 37pfl7603 (full HD) and 32pfl7603 (HD ready) for both my ps3 & mkv.

Sobra sobra na ang 9800GT if you're not a heavy gamer.

I've read rave reviews on the 1:1 pixel mapping implementation of the Samsung A550 series.  I cant honestly say the same thing on my 32LG50 but I definitely prefer the color saturation of LG over Samsung by a mile- this is quite important for me personally because I like watching movies through the PC.   In any case, when you use a 32 inch or bigger panel as a PC monitor, it's quite a strain to stay close on it anyways, hence, even though the texts are not as perfectly sharp and clean as they are on regular PC monitors, at a sitting distance of 1.5m or farther, it should be OK.

It is quite possible that LG Engineers have made corrections on the 1:1 pixel mapping in their newer 60 series LCDs.

But you know what, that 35K 37 inch Panasonic LX80 of SnS sounds very enticing.   It may not be full HD, but it's still higher resolution than a 720p plasma, and you can probably configure your Nvidia to bring out the best in that HDTV as a PC monitor.  Why dont you lug your PC to SnS and give it a try?

Hello, gusto ko sana i -revive yun thread na ito.. same plan..  currently in the market for an lcd tv or monitor that has 1920x1080 resolution. At least 22 inches and up to 26".. maybe even 32" if  walang problem sa display.

Planning to hook my PC and media player to the HD monitor TV im going to buy.

I have a Palit gtx260 216core 896mb  55nm
and an Egreat 32b

Any suggestions?

Thanks
