Old AVR
« on: Sep 22, 2009 at 11:28 AM »
Hello Everyone. A pal gave his OLD AVR http://audio-database.com/DENON-COLUMBIA/amp/avc-2000-e.html. I have tried connecting my old speakers (from a mini component) and the sounds is good. Any input on how to make use of it will be appreciated, like is it worth buying speakers to match this equipment. Right now my setup is laptop (Dell Studio) with HDMI and Pana 37x10, right now i am just using the monitor out (Audio) of the TV going into the AVR. Is the setup fine and will i achieve a better audio if i add a more decent speakers.

Your ideas will be highly appreciated. TIA.

what a generous pal you have there and it's a 5 channel receiver! buying a new set of speakers to match your amp will definitely improve the sound quality of your set-up and also a good way to test if you'll go further in this hobby.

check this speaker thread out http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php?topic=70456.0 and you may find something you like ;D

Thank you sir for the reply, i'm really newbie in this area. Will check the link you mentioned. Anyway, can i add a subwoofer on this? Also i was trying to put a speaker in the rear channel but no sound is driven to my speaker? Any idea? Will this match my AVR http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php?topic=102399.0?

Thank you again.
