Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Now Available
« on: Sep 30, 2009 at 08:48 AM »
This title comes out sometime in November I think.

SPECIAL EDITION - SPECIAL FEATURES:

- Additional Scenes (6:31)

*HARRY AND HERMIONE WALK THROUGH HOGWARTS HALL
*HARRY AND HERMIONE DISCUSS THE MARAUDER’S MAP
*HARRY, RON & HERMIONE DISCUSS THE VANISHING CABINET
*HARRY AND DUMBLEDORE ARRIVE AT CAVE ENTRANCE
*HARRY AND DUMBLEDORE LEAVE THE CAVE
*CLOUDS GATHER OVER HOGWARTS AS FLITWICK CONDUCTS CHOIR
*HARRY JOINS RON, HERMIONE AND GINNY IN THE COMMON ROOM
*HARRY AND HERMIONE DISCUSS RON AT ASTRONOMY TOWER

- Close-Up with the Cast of Harry Potter: Hosts Matthew Lewis ("Neville Longbottom") and Alfred Enoch ("Dean Thomas") lead us on an entertaining look at the cast of Harry Potter as they explore their interests away from acting and spend a day on set with the production team (28:30)

- J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life (documentary): A fascinating and intimate look into the life of J.K. Rowling over the last year of writing "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." (49:32)

- One-Minute Drills: The cast has 60 seconds to describe their character's personality, history, relationships and other traits before time runs out (6:43)

- What's on Your Mind: Hosted by Tom Felton, the cast is put on the spot when asked a series of rapid-fire questions on their likes and dislikes. (6:41)

- "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" Sneak Peek: Get an "inside look" at the amazing world of magic and excitement being created at Universal Orlando® Resort in Florida (11:38)

DVD cover right here: http://www.dvdtown.com/images/displaymedia.php?id=27379&sizew=500&cat=3&type=1&page=0

Though for the local version the cover might change due to the re-release of the first five films.

I'm kinda disappointed that the release didn't include a sneak peak of HP7 but it's still worth buying especially now that it comes with J.K.'s documentary.

Yes. But Magnavision (through Studio World) already owns the distribution rights to Warner videos here in the Philippines.

I'll wait until all movies are shown and buy the whole Year 1 to 7 collector's pack later. By that time I probably already switched to blu-ray. :)

Dear Magnavision:

Please take this criticism in the spirit that it's meant. Hopefully you will not just read it, but also pass it along to whoever is in charge of distribution and delivery of products within your company.

When you have a major blockbuster title with an announced release date, then you must make every effort to get this title out to all stores nationwide (or at the very least, in Metro Manila) on time. Much like the way Warner Philippines used to do it - the stock is in shops a few days before the announced official release date, with a DO NOT SELL BEFORE (DATE) warning.

There is nothing more frustrating than working a 12-hour shift, rushing to the store before dinner knowing the title should be in stores, and finding out it's not available at this particular branch yet.

This is not the first time this has happened this month alone. We had the same problem with Star Trek. It's very annoying for your already very limited clientele who still purchase original DVDs in this day and age when pirated material and high speed illegal downloads are very easy (and a lot more convenient) to obtain.

We want to do the right thing, but you really make it difficult for us to keep on patronizing your company's expensive original products.

Thank you.

No HP6 DVD on Odyssey Olongapo. How sad :'(
DVDs for blockbuster movies like HP:HBP should be delivered on time.

I got mine in AstroPlus MOA after looking for it in 2 other malls. Does anyone know why the preview of Deathly Hallows was omitted. The Highlight of the Bonus Feature are J.K. Rowling's Documentary and the Deleted Scenes.

Dear Magnavision/Studio World,

Would it be possible to release the 2-disc DVD in regular packaging, aside from the "3D" edition. That edition currently available in local stores is so bulky to store, and quite frankly, not attractive at all. And besides, it's not consistent with the packaging of previous Harry Potter titles.

Thank you.

My advice on this dilemma:

Take it out of the "3D" packaging. Once you pull it out, it's a separate, sealed, regular 2-Disc copy of the movie in a keep case, consistent with the packaging of the previous titles in the series. No slipcase, but the R3 HP III and HP V that I bought both didn't have slipcases, either:

As for the "3D" packaging, I gave it to our dog:

Hahaha! Good dog!

I just find it such a waste to dispose of the "3D" packaging. Would the DVD have been cheaper had Magna opted to just release a regular packaging?

Unlikely.  Most major releases by Magna are 895, especially with 2-discs version.

haha!  CUTE!!   :D

I would have been happy w/ a simple 2-disc SE w/ slip instead of the crappy looking "3D" packaging.

I'm getting the R1 2-disc instead.

I was at Astro last Friday and I didn't see any HP6 blu-ray there.  The U.S. BD release is set for Dec 8 though.  I don't know about the local release...   :-\
