Hi Folks,

 I just recently purchased the LG HT554TM-A2. It's connected to my LCD via HDMI directly. While watching DVD's I noticed that there was a slight "echo" in the sound quality. First I thought that it might have been due to the fact that the disc I was playing was from the "Jack Sparrow" collection, so I let it slide. A few nights later, I tried watching my original Casino Royale video but the audio quality was still the same. There was a very faint hint of an echo, making it seem like the people in the movie were speaking in a cave or a dome.

 I toyed around with the audio setup of the unit, turning DRC on/off, adjusting volume, distance, etc. but it still came out the same. It was only after I pressed mute on the DVD remote (mainly due to frustration), that I found the culprit. Apparently, yung HDMI connection ko coming from the HT to the LCD was outputting audio as well as video. So yung sound coming from the TV yung naririnig ko na parang echo.

 I sifted around the setup mode od the player and read through the manual, but it had no way of configuring HDMI to output video only.

 Anyone else experience this or know how to fix it aside from muting the TV?

Good Day Sirs,

My cousin bought an LG 42" LH20R lcd tv bundled with a home theater system (HT 554 TM). I'll be helping him setup his home theater and I have a couple of questions for you guys.

1. According to lg philippines website for this product, the av formats that can be played include mpeg4 and mkv. ( http://www.lge.com/ph/tv-audio-video/home-theater-system/LG-HT554TM.jsp ) Has anyone here tried this already? Does the content have to be burned on a dvd disc or can it be played from a usb drive?

2. If playing hi-def files is not possible, are the speakers of this home theater system compatible with a media player such as WD TV Live?

These are probably dumb questions hehe...I hope you you guys can enlighten me on these issues.

pag open mo ng player, wait ka muna na no disc sign to appear, once na nag appear

using your remote control, press "pause", 3,1,4,1,5,9

a menu should appear on the region settings

makikita mo na naka default sya sa region 3. press mo na lang "0", then press "pause" then stop. Then turn off your unit (wait for at least 10 seconds).

Power it on

your HT should now be set as region free

Has anybody confirmed this region free code and actually tried it and succeeded cause I am confused since the other post showed another way of making this HT become region free. Thanks.

Would just like to ask if this HT is capable of DTS output if I put my BD player through its Digital in. I am trying to decide whether to buy this or go for the more expensive LG HT904.

Hi Guys,

New owner of HT554TM, it says in LG website that it supports .mkv i tried to put an .mkv file on my USB but it cannot be read, can someone help or instruct me if it needs some tweaking for this to be able to play mkv format

I tried this initially and it didn't work, yun pala in my case (I don't know kasi baka sa ibang units you dont have to it) you have to press "Enter" button right after you press "0" before pressing "Pause" and "Stop".

To all users of "LG HTT554TM", na eexperience nyo po ba yung pag ka power on ng player, then pag sinalpakan ng disc, tas pag play yung movie almost minimal to zero ang sounds? I am not sure, kung may kailangan ako ayusin sa settings nya. Pero ang weird, after switching it off to on again, ayun, gumana na yung sounds, 2nd time around na nangyari ito.

yup ako din nangyari narin sa akin to, twice na din. I just turned it off and on, tapos ok na. Wala ba talagang eject option sa remote control nya?

sadly, im experiencing sudden pausing/stoppage while palying dvd's. not sure if it is caused by the DVD. tried to play it in an ordinary DVD player, no problem whatsoever.

any of you guys experienced this?

my HT554Tm stops when playing DVD. I notice that is stops on mid part of the movie, say if the move has 18 tracks, dvd will stop on track 9 or 10. I think this has also something to do with DL disc.

In my case the player totally stops, can't continue watching the disc anymore

mga bossing nakakaplay po ba ito ng mp4 from usb? saka obsolete na ata ito pero may firmware po ba ito na pwedeng magamit? wala po kasi ako makita kay mr.gogol eh.hehe... TIA!

ung LG HTT554TM ko po walang video signal kahit naka set sa dvd mode at usb mode sa lahat ng video output port, lagi ring naka keep reading kahit walang disc ung player kahit may disc dinaman umiikot pero reading ang naka display sa lcd, pati ung usb mode keep seaching kahit walang usb na nakakabit, at walang sound kahit naka fm at am mode pati na ung poratble mode at aux mode...
baka may idea kayo kung ano ang solution para dito...
