Isnt it amazing how smoothly the German offense is capable of scoring goals?  Parang walang nasasayang na opportunity and no forced moves.  They seemed to be dancing the elegant Viennese Waltz while their oppponents were forced to doing the Krumping  ;D

And Messi should befriend Klose to get some useful tips on how to actually make goals in the WC.  That German FW has been very prolific since the 2002 games in Japan & Korea.

i don't think its Klose the germans need to give credit. it's their three youngsters (mueller, boateng and ozil)  who were elevated from the Under-21 side that should be given credit in Germany's run until yesterday ;) ;) ;) ;)

Yeah, Mueller and Ozil are very fast offensive threats, but Klose still makes the score - he's got about 15 WC goals I think?   In 2002, I thought he was just a head butt young forward.   ;D

At ang galing ng short passes nila, no? Almost always perfect and almost always unhurried even when they're trying to clear their third of the field. A corollary to that is how they are almost always in an open space to receive those short passes.

They're not even missing Ballack at all.

Some look-alikes for me:

Ozil - Edward Furlong
Teves - can't find his name in my head, not Luis Guzman but another hispanic actor.
Messi - (agree with Bill Simmons) a young Dustin Hoffman

Let's continue the reverse jinx:

I'm rooting for Holland and Germany but I think Uruguay and Spain will win this.

 ;D

(sayang, sana nanalo ang Paraguay para I can use the exact same line :D )

I'm rooting for Holland and Germany but I think the South Americans will win this. Highly anticipated matchups Friday and Saturday night.

its gonna be Dutch resilience vs German efficiency in the Finals for me.  ;D

the Germans will demolish Spain in the semis. boring and unconvincing wins ung games ng Spain.. :P
but..... we will see how Germany operates without Mueller.. id still say theyl win against Spain but lets see if Mueller's absence has an adverse effect in their attacking line.. ;)

They come in 3s ba?

What about Nadal finally having a cute Spanish girlfriend sitting in the family box at the Wimbledon finals.   ;D.  My wife was beginning to doubt about his "preference" prior to that.   ;D

Tawa ko sa British commentators when they mentioned something like "she's already fixing her face and her shades..getting ready for lots of photographers"  - that was at match point as the camera focused on her.

I hope to see droves of Latina fans in the finals.   Oh well I like blondes in orange shirts too...and German ladies too.  Cant make up my mind yet.

I really have a feeling that the Spaniards will win even with Germany's explosive form of late.

Spain has been so used to playing teams with 8 players behind the ball and waiting to counter.  Portugal did that, Paraguay did that and so did Germany in the Euros 2 years ago.

Del Bosque should change his routine, take out 1 striker and put in an extra holding midfielder (Cesc?) just so he can upset Loew's planning with a bit of mystery.

As I've said before, Loew is a master tactician and Del Bosque would have to be a bit creative than the usual 4-4-2 (essentially a 2-2-1-3-2 linear attack).

No, nothing like that. Just hoping the reverse jinx works in the semis like it did in the quarters. Dutch German final, let's go!

Two more look-alikes:

Julio Cesar - Vince Vaughn
Dutchman Ooijer - Matt Frewer

 ;D

Question for anybody who knows, in the Holland Brazil game, there was a Dutch corner that Robben (I think) barely kicked then ran into the box while another player was supposed to get it. What was that supposed to accomplish?

Ang tagal naman ng semis! :D

that was supposed to fool the Brazilians into thinking that the ball is still not in play when actually it is, so that they'l still be doing their markings with the Dutch players.  problem was, the Dutch were not able to accomplish it to perfection. unlike what Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs did in the BPL. it was a corner for ManU against Chelsea and they did the exact same thing. Rooney nudged the ball into play and Giggs made a cross which was met by C. Ronaldo's head for a goal.  sad to say, it was disallowed coz the ref & linesman got kinda shell-shocked with the play.  ;D

the ball goes into play when its out of the semi-circle painted at the bottom of where the corner flag is rooted. ;)

Okay, I looked up the Rooney/Giggs play (good thing it's on youtube) and I understand what the difference is now. What you are able to do with this trick which you are not able to do with an ordinary corner is to take the ball out of the corner yourself to bring it closer to goal (in a real corner you have to pass/kick it).

Thanks!

Ger vs Ned would be a helluva match noting that these 2 nations are bitter rivals.

Paul the Octopus has chosen Spain, though, which have despaired many superstitious German fans.

Perhaps. I actually see it as like Israel vs Palestine  ;D

Would be a cracking match though but I would not want to bet against the Octopus.  :D

The fans of Germany can still cast their spell.  Either eat a ton of takoyaki or paella.

It worked when the Japanese consumed a lot of Danish bread and some ethnic Cameroon dish prior to the games.   ;D
