i guess i need to try them all so i would know for myself :)

That would be the wisest choice. After all, it is your hard-earned money. :)

audition would really be the key in choosing the best speakers for you.

i guess i would be the latest pdvd member bitten by klipsch bug. i did'nt even consider this brand when i was making my list of speakers for audition.

i guess it was meant for me to be able to audition klipsch first before the speakers i have shortlisted (the synergy f2).

since it was not on my list, i was not affected by the biased net reviews (both praises and negative remarks). i was'nt even aware of the price when i listened to it ;D

it turned-out that it was my ears that decided on what sounded good for me and not the brand hype, not the net reviews and not even the price dictated what direction i want to go since i was'nt aware of the price when i heard it.

That would be the wisest choice. After all, it is your hard-earned money. :)

audition is really the key! kung pwede nga i-blind test mo ;D

Well not yet an owner but hopefully could piece up a nice 5.1 for the meanwhile.  After a couple of months auditioning receivers and speakers i got drawn to marantz and klipsch.  Is there anyone here in the forums who uses the reference series? Thanks.

Im a Klipsch speaker fan. Nagsimula ito nung inaudition ko yung F-1 sa Ultimate Electronics dito sa US. Sobrang natuwa ako sa kanya. And now, I own several Klipsch speakers:

KG 2.5
KSF C5
RF-5

Hindi pa complete yung setup ko. I'll use the RF-5 for stereo setup but Im still on the look out for a good deal on a stereo amp. Gamit ko na yung KG2.5 and C5 sa HT setup ko. They are powered by Denon 1909.

A general characteristic for horn-loaded Klipsch speakers is that they tend to sound quite different (very forward sounding highs) from other brands and models. You will definitely notice upon auditioning if it will suit your ears.

Personally, I heard Klipsch Reference speakers at SnS and my ears already hurt just after 10 minutes of listening.

im not sure about current klipsch models but i the vintage klipsch (98+db sensitivity) are easily driven and matches well w/ valve amplification. quoting its founder paul klipsch "What this country (america) needs is a good 5watt amplifier". coz he's one "horny sob"  ;D

perhaps a classic example of wrong set up and choice of gears.
klipsch speakers, or any other bright sounding speakers can be heard at its best if paired with the proper gears, wires, and acoustics.

this is true not  only for bright speakers but for any other speaker as well. PROPER synergy solves "almost" anything :)

very true at isa pang very very true.

i have a dared mp5 paired with (my very first speaker) b&w 302 using an old philips dvd player lang and dismayado ako sa nipis ng tunog. "ano ba naman ito"  ??? >:( sabi ko sa sarili. PERO nung pinalitan ko ang dvdplayer (take note dvdplayer ha) aba, tumaba at nagkaroon ng punch. much more if i use a good cd player and cables.

in my case, naisip kong ibenta either ang amp or the speakers or both but i asked myself, "teka muna, kung ang iba gustong-gusto ang mp5 at ganun din ang dm302 e bakit ko ito pakakawalan?"  ;)

Unfortunately, this would entail lots of researching, mixing and experimenting. ;D Thanks for the heads up!

IMHO

i also agree with this and also agree that audio is subjective.

among all the speakers i auditioned at S&S it was klipsch that suit my ear but when i brought the speakers home it took me 4 different speaker cables to mix and match before i got the sound that i liked.

it's amazing how a simple tweak in cables change and add on to the amount of sound quality and characteristics of your speakers, panu pa kaya yung super expensive good branded speaker cables (anu kaya ang effect nila  ::) ) but that's another topic ;D

i wud say that matching does not only go for getting the sound we like. cost matching is also as important in order to maximize your system's potential to your budget.

an extreme example would be this:
1) a VSA VR11 paired to a cayin A50 integrated amp
2) an aurum cantus V2 paired to a cayin A50 integrated amp
i dont think the VR11 would sound any better than the AC V2 given this match up.

my point is this, there is just a certain extent of maximizing a speaker's/gear's/wire's certain potential. going anywhere beyond it by spending so much more(and hoping it would sound better) would just be a waste of money.

Proud Owner of Promedia 5.1s here. Sadly, they gave up on me about a month ago. Can anyone recommend recommend a place to get them repaired? Thanks in advance!

Wanted to share...

Just recently auditioned the Synergy Series, namely...F1, C1 and S1. I was aiming to auditon the F2, but didn't get the chance as SnS didn't have one on site.

My impressions....very bright sounding set of speakers. Audio from CD source is very impressive. The clarity is unbelievable. During the audition, I asked the good people of SnS to take off the sub and watched a movie and listened to a audio CD. In both instances, I was shocked to hear that there is still bass, even without the sub.

Overall, I am impressed with the brand and will consider upgrading, but I would still like to take the opportunity to be able to listen to the F2's before I make my final decision. ;D

i heard the F2 a year ago at the alabang audio fair.
i remember shaking my head in disbelief how the F2 is able to produce such bass in such a big room space.

and yes, it sounds bright, very detailed.

Now I am really curious how the F2 sounds. If the F1's I auditioned had bass, I bet the F2's has a bolder bass sound. :)

David Kan of 6moons uses the F2 synergy in his evaluation of Kingrex:

Haven't been updated on audio for a while, is the synergy F2 still being sold here, where and at what price?

Thanks!

My first klipsch was a synergy2 bookshelf. I was enjoying it in my office matched with a technics amplifier, when one day i decided to bring it home in its box together with a yamaha amplifier for weekend mix and match purposes. Next thing i knew there was Ondoy (the storm not the pdvd member.TY nga pla sir the tannoys.hehehe ;D) again...ondoy and  both gears fell victim. Haaay...sad story noh... :'(  Ok. happy story naman... :D I just aquired a Klipsch reference rb-81 a couple of days ago. Okay.... make that 3 days ago to be exact. :D Anyone who is into detailed sound would be extremely blissful with this. And yes my friends, its also that clear. ;D
