Alikabok is more hazardous to your health than a hermetically sealed HDD Anchit.  hehehe.  The areas exposed to the environment have no moving parts.  Naturally ventilated pa siya so it does not suck air in any specific direction and would not heat up as much as an HDD enclosed by something.  We use the same in Pasig and ubod ng OC Mrs. ko sa kaka-dust all the time.

Hi Clondalkin,
Are you using this kind of adapter :

What speed are you getting when transferring files?

I tried this bracket on my old pc but the speed was almost the same as usb 2

saw this bracket at TPC. now am really tempted to buy it. ;D at least now may info na ako dat the bracket works, medyo apprehensive kc at first.hehe

on another note, ung Dell PC ko sa office may esata port. used it to transfer a 40gb bdrip from my external HDD to the PC, took about 12-14mins. i think thats fast... ;)

I've installed it.

- NMT Apps via USB works
- Subtitle settings now saved (persistent)
- Persistent volume labels on USB also works
- TCP Rwin also available.

For A200, the biggest change is the new file view for SimpleBD.

Sometimes BDMV structures just don't work well sa SimpleBD so the new firmware allows you to manually go through a BDMV structure to find the m2ts file to play.

The weird thing I noticed that I have a BDMV of Dances with Wolves. It's an old rip and on simple BD I can get Dolby TrueHD to be recognized (not just core audio).

Before this firmware, if I changed the settings, size, position of the subtitle (subtitle key on remote) it wouldn't be remembered after a reboot. Now changes are saved to memory.

Gumanda na ba yung quality ng font for MKV?

Kapag pure BD rip laging maganda ang font.

I haven't actually come across a pure BD rip that required me to select a specific m2ts file (usually the biggest one for non-seamless branching type, playlist based for seamless branching ones) for playback via the A200 - hence this player is a notch above the Mede8er IMO.   Anyhow it's a convenient update.

Every firmware update includes a file to install NMT Apps.

If you don't install it now, just keep the file around kung gusto mo na i-install.

I had the problem before....

I solved that by changing the playerpath in library.xml to a network share instead of a symbolic link.

Ok... medyo nosebleed...

Since I have both A200 and C200, the problem for me was how to generate 1 jukebox (in the C200) and allow that same jukebox to work if I access it using the A200 in another room.

The trick is NETWORK SHARES.

Network shares allow you to set a NAME;

Ex:

In the C200, the drive holding content is formatted via NTFS and has the volume label "MOVIES"

Go to the carousel menu (root) and go to Network Browser.

Find the share and "add" it.

When adding it, I choose a share name of "MOVIES"

And on the machine where YAMJ resides, here's my library.xml

Code: [Select]
<libraries>
    <library>
        <path>/Volumes/MOVIES</path>
        <playerpath>file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/MOVIES</playerpath>
        <exclude name="sample,tmp/,temp/,RECYCLE.BIN/,user_font/"/>
        <description></description>
        <prebuf></prebuf>
        <scrapeLibrary>true</scrapeLibrary>
    </library>
</libraries>

Take note of the change from /SATA_DISK to /NETWORK_SHARE

If you generate a jukebox using the share name instead of the physical mount point, you can access it across any PCH device in a LAN as long as you define the same share name in other devices.

On the A200, I then add the same share using network browser (MOVIES).

Maski palitan pa firmware pa-ulit ulit, I can still use the same generated jukebox because I define the share name for YAMJ to use.

Sorry kung medyo mahirap intindihin but I also took time to research it and get it working. Theoretically, I can take my YAMJ jukeboxes to other people's PCH units and with a few simple setups can get it to play movies without regenerating it.

Updating firmware shouldn't affect yamj. Are you using an external drive? Are you plugging in more than 1drive via usb? If yes, your nmt might have assigned a different drive letter to the external drive that's why it won't play. Try placing the drives on the usb location you usually insert it to. Also, avoid connecting more than 1 external drive via usb so as not to change the assigned drive letter.

If above fails, take note of the drive assigned, run yamj gui, select corresponding directories and drive from the drop down menu and run yamj again

Popbox and Popcorn Hour to Receive RealD 3D Playback

POPBOX™ LEVERAGES REALD TECHNOLOGY TO BRING 3D CINEMA EXPERIENCE TO HDTVs

PopBox now accepting pre-orders via Amazon

Fremont, CA (May 21, 2010)-PopBox™ today announced that in tandem with RealD Inc., a leading 3D technology provider for cinema, home and professional applications, it will equip all PopBox devices with the ability to display high-definition 3D content. PopBox is the first over-the-top set-top box to support the stereoscopic RealD Format for the delivery and display of high-quality 3D content. PopBox will ship 3D-ready at launch, so consumers can enjoy 3D content on all 3D-ready HDTVs.

PopBox makes it simple and affordable to play all the movies, music, home videos, and photos from your home PC and network-connected devices, and content streamed from the Internet, on your HDTV. PopBox will be available soon, and is currently available to pre-order at Amazon.com. PopBox retails for $129.99, and PopBox Wireless for $149.99.

PopBox builds on the success of Syabas’ award-winning Popcorn Hour lineup of Network Media Tanks, the Popcorn Hour A-200 and C-200. All Popcorn Hour A and C series devices will also have access to the RealD Format to enable 3D viewing.

“We’re thrilled that PopBox has licensed the RealD Format to enable its community to enjoy high-definition 3D content,” said Steve Shannon, EVP of Consumer Electronics at RealD.

The RealD Format is a patented side-by-side method of delivering 3D video. The RealD Format combines left eye and right eye 3D image streams into a single channel for delivery of high-definition progressive or interlaced 3D video using today’s Internet or broadcast infrastructure, including existing PCs, HD set-top boxes and DVRs, to any 3D-enabled display type.

“This is an excellent opportunity for PopBox and Popcorn Hour to bring our community an amazing experience, and spectacular 3D content in the home,” said Alex Limberis, COO, PopBox. “Content created in 3D should be enjoyed in 3D. Leveraging the RealD Format gives our community a new dimension of HDTV entertainment right out of the gate.”

The PopBox platform will be 3D-ready beginning at launch. As new 3D content is available, consumers can enjoy the 3D experience in the home, on their 3D-ready HDTVs. The Popcorn Hour A-200 and C-200 will be field-upgradeable to enable 3D playback.

In my understanding the 3D processors can be done on your display (TV) alone or thru Player. Provided your TV is compatible with the 3D system.

What overheating issue?

Nakakatulugan or naiiwan naming powered lagi ang A200 and it just stays warm - but I dont install HDD internally.  Meron bang HDD player na hindi umiinit?  It's like a CPU+VGA card so it has to get very warm.
