Hi PDVDers,

I bought a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 and a 9.CS 2 months ago. I wasn't able to use them until now coz I still don't have an AV Receiver (planning to buy an Onkyo TX-NR509, if budget comes). My question is, ma damage/degrade ba yung mga speakers if not used for a long period?

Yung center speaker ko nakalagay lang sa TV rack (display) at yung 9.1s nasa room ko lang nakalagay sa box.

ok lang yan kasi sa shops nasa bodega lang din yan and i had the same situation before

Depends also on How To Long & the quality materials use on the drivers. As our climate here w/c is very humid, cheaper materials like the rubber surrounds cracks easily in long storage periods, just my 2 cents

i believe as long as you store them "in a cool, dry place" and in original packaging (or very similar,) then they should keep indefinitely

check it from time to time
ung frend ko na stock ung 9CM and 10cm same packaging and everything

when they opened it after 1yr the 10cm still new - ok talaga ung kevlar na driver
ung 9cm parang medyo nagkaroon ng mga white particles parang mapupunit agad

Thanks mga sir.. Every other day I clean them up using dry cloth. So far, they all look the same.. I dunno sa soun quality. I hope they're all okay.

proper storage dapat.

yung lumang wharfe ko with foam surround nadurog ang foam kasi hindi nagamit for few weeks noong pinagawa ang attic at ang mali ko hindi ko binalot ng mabuti kaya pinasok ng amag. isa pang problema kung mamahay ang langgam at mangitlog sa loob. hth
