pretty much accurate... cables may have an effect but its not really night and day.

Correct.

Napansin ko din yan,I'm using 1.5 m. audio pro rca cable ung single per pack, mahina ung output ng sub ko but when i used my DIY belden rg6 cable mas malinis at mas strong and deep ung bass ng sub.

Btw, forget about the cables.
+1 ;D  I've learned thru the years that cables has a little as much as only 5% emphasis on the entire system, this is just my 2cents ;)

I read an article before cables are just 5% emphasis on the system set-up while the rest of the 95% goes to the equipments used  ;)

You will also have to consider room acoustics. I did not believe in this before...but since I had my room treated, you'd be amazed at the BIG improvement it can do to the overall performance of your HT. ;)

Ooo pala I forgot about room treatments, a very big difference on a treated room v.s. an untreated one (mine's is semi untreated):D

If your room is semi untreated and you don't know where to begin, the intial treatment for me to recommend, would be to get base traps. They are very effective and really improves bass sound quality. ;)

Thats the problem, my area is quite small & i think the Bass Traps wont fit in the corners anymore. How about those rectangular diffussors w/c we put in the rear end of the main front speakers? TIA ;)

Many times, when you don't hear any bass, it is because the AVR has set your main speakers (all speakers other than the sub) as "Large" or "Full-Band." D ako sure ano terminology sa Yamaha.

Make sure that the main speakers are set to "Small" and set the crossover to around 80 Hz. That will send the frequencies below 80 Hz to your sub. The principle is that no matter how big your main speakers are, it is still better to designate them as "Small" and let the subwoofer handle the bass.

Btw, forget about the cables.

Salamat sa tips sir. Kaya pala di ko ma feel ang bass ko. :)

yes you can do this.
if you hear no difference then try not to look for it further.cables are just tools to transfer signals.
resistance lang ang dapat i-eliminate or bawasan dyan.so use thicker wire with good isolation coating

salya mo sa marketplace siguradong may kukuha niyan  ;D

ako ginagamit ko na subwoofer cable ngayon is an old component cable since kailangan left and right pag naka connect sa integrated amp. kaya hindi na uubra yung single coaxial cable na gamit ko dati.

Me I use thick coax cable made in Japan with better termination (Nutrik) spend a little pricey because of the Build. I am not expecting it will makes my Sub better NO! I just use this thick quality cable for better isolation from any interference and assures me a tight connection on my sub at all times (our humid climate makes cheap connectors to tarnish) i like the things ''CONNECT and FORGET"!

Using Nutrik connectors for my custom subwoofer cable as well - one that 'locks-on'.

sir makikisingit na nga, mag d-DIY kasi ako ng subwoofer IC ko, ano ba yung 75 ohms na coax? eto ba yung isa lang ang copper wire sa loob? eto kasi nakita ko kay pao sa selling:

Satconn RG6Q Cables (quad shield, white color) - P35 per meter.
Amphenol RG6 Cables (black color) - P25 per meter.
Amphenol RG59 Cables (black color) - P25 per meter.

Kung hindi ako nagkakamali eto yung kable ng "cable" namin. does it mean na pwede ko gamitin yun as subwoofer cable?

How about mic cable? pwede din?

sa dami ng nabasa ko naguluhan lang ako. hehehehe.

Amphenol Plugs pala ang balak ko gamitin para sa terminator.

Then nagpagulo pa 'to - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzCIMufCQLk
i think na discuss to in page 2 ata. but.. should I use RCA L/R and LFE para both movies and audio pasok?

I use the stock Neutrick SpeakOn connectors and cables. Nothing fancy. It came with the subs so I guess the manufacturer deemed that its good already for their product.
