Stat-wise, looks like Lebron was the best player.  But if you look closely who carried the Heat in game 1, it was Wade.  Midway through the 4th, it was Wade who caused the separation between the Heat and the Mavs.  Lebron was actually invisible for a 5 minute stretch.

When it was money time, Lebron was nowhere to be found.  But after Wade made it a 9pt lead with a couple of minutes left, Lebron became aggressive again kasi malaki na ang lamang and almost a won ballgame na.  So the pressure is off na for him to deliver.  Wade is the hero in game 1.  Such is the career of Lebron James.  Buti na lang nandun si Wade para saluhin si Lebron.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar just published a letter about MJ and LBJ. He disagreed with Pippen, and disagreed with everyone who disagreed with Pippen, and disagrees with everyone here at pdvd hehe.

KAJ says Wilt and Russell are greater than MJ.

Since "the greatest" is not a real result but, in the end, merely an opinion, it all boils down to whose opinion has more weight with you.

With me, KAJ's opinion has more weight than Scottie's and the opinion of anyone else who's voiced an opinion on this topic anywhere in the world in the last week. Yun lang. Here's the link...

Back to 2011. Ricky Rubio just let the deadline pass for signing for next year, under the current CBA. Will he still sign, albeit at a lower salary? I'd like to see how his game transfers to the NBA.

It was a good game.  Dallas played well.  But the Heat played better.  Congrats to both teams....

Ang plastic noh? ;D  What I really want to say, "$$%%%%%  nyoh Dallas, eat Lebron & Wade's space dust..!" Although mas magandang pakinggan, dpogs, yun alikabok. Parang Eddie Garcia ang dating! Ang lutong nun dre...

Many in the thread kept saying the Heat played tremendous offense by out shooting Dirk and the Mavs. For me, you can never outshoot a team with a lineup such as the Mavs.  All first five players CAN score 20 points and more.  But you can OUT DEFEND them.  For me, it was the defense of the Heat that shone brilliantly in the game. Dallas was held to their lowest point total of the playoffs!  Great defense by the Heat. Great job by kabayan Erik.  I keep saying this - DEFENSE wins championships.

It was a defensive game mind you.  Dallas held Miami to 39% fg shooting, the 2nd poorest showing of Miami for the playoffs.  Problem was, the Heat defended better, holding Dallas to 37% fg shooting.

wala kasi gusto ni mj, sinusunog pinapakain niya ng alikabok yung mga superstars, beating the best. kaya nga sabi ni magicJ - theres the resst of us, then there's mj. above the best of em.

6-FINALS MVP  ;D ;D ;D
100%

at walang identity crisis, alam kung sino si batman at sino si robin. mj /scottie

eh lbj, KAILANGAN si dwade at cbosh para manalo.

yup, i agree! MJ became the greatest coz he played and beaten the best. ;D

As for LBJ, no doubt he is the best player in NBA right now. ;D but as we said it, basketball is a team sport. :D every great player needs a great team behind him to be champs. :D

I agree. most of James' points were made in non-critical moments. Except for that slam dunk and one moment, you'd think he was just one of the regular stars of the NBA and not the "maybe the greatest player ever". Wade won game 1 for the Heat.

PRECISELY kya nga LBJ can never match the level of MJ coz he hasnt proven and perhaps will never be able to prove to himself and the public na kaya nya magdala ng team and win them all not only once but in threepeats.

MJ has only a bunch of role players to support him but of course the best of them was Pippen,
and the others like Longley, Rodman, Horace Grant, Paxon, BJ Armstong, Steve Kerr, Bill Wennington, Will Purdue, Tony Kukoc, etc.

Miami is Wade's team. He has already proven that when he single handedly carried his team to sweep Dallas 4-0 and win the NBA championship for Miami after losing their first 2 games.

Shaq isnt at the peak of his career when he joined the Heat, its Wade that carry that team and another player to mention was UDONIS HASLEM who did a very good defensive job on Dirk kya nanalo ang Heat 2006

angat talaga heat kasi at any given time 3, 2 o isang superstar ang nasa loob.

Agree! Hirap sa match up ang Mavs sa Heat specially sa off guard position w/c WADE will just dominante, sa small forward from time to time Shaun Marion can do the job in containing LBJ but he may just be worn out in the end game.

^ Definitely not the highlight you want to hear about Nowitzki for Game 1.  Mavs need to win Game 2 if they want to have a realistic chance of winning the title under the 2-3-2 format.  Relevant stats swiped from the net:

* Only two teams — the Detroit Pistons in 2004 and the Miami Heat in 2006 — swept Games 3, 4 and 5 at home since the NBA adopted the 2-3-2 format for the Finals in 1985.  [Note: Both won the championship.]

* Twelve teams won the first two games at home. Only one of them failed to win the title - and it was the Dallas Mavericks in 2006.

We'll have a series if the Mavs end up tied with Miami on Friday.  Sana 'wag naman maging boring ang Finals.
