My questions are:
1. Would this be recommendable for normal cable tv viewing?
2. Does it have built-in DLNA so I can stream movies wirelessly from my MBP?
3. The sala, where this tv will be placed is well lighted, is this ok or should it be in a darker room for the PQ to be impressive?
4. How does this plasma compare to Samsung 40C6900 and Samsung 40C650 in terms of PQ and usage for regular TV viewing and gaming?
1. Most definitely yes.
2. No, cant do that with this TV. WIRE your MBP to the TV.
3. My living room and my bedroom can be illuminated as brightly as any electronic shop and the image quality is fine. Do you have any complains about some of the sample photos Ive posted? Ang liwanag ng room when I took those. Dumilim lang dahil mabilis ang shutter speed setting to capture the image as sharp as the camera could without pausing the TV (and also because the screen is basically a light source kaya yung light metering ng cam would be based sa liwanag ng TV - kaya parang madilim sa background).
Of course mas impressive ang image kung mas madilim. Kung meron kang lux meter, pag umabot ka ng 150 lux or below, near optimum na yon (in case ayaw mo ng total darkness like me). For ref, a bright office would be about 500 lux. Very bright stores would be 1000 lux or higher - pero medyo madilim ang stores sa Manila anyways..hehehe.
4. The usual Plasma vs LCD. Please read through that thread because everything has been answered there already. If there is anything new and significant about this specific model, the image is bright enough, the screen reflection is very minimal and you should not bother about power consumption at all - hence it's an all indoor lighting level TV and you can watch, anytime, all the time. It would suck if you place it in the garden under the sun, but even CRT and LCD and Iphone would - Kindle lang maganda under the sun. Hehehe.
Take note yung puede mong maging headaches when used for gaming. This model IRs so evidently kasi ang taas ng contrast, iisa layer ng screen, and maliwanag ang image. So whatever shadow is left by static images, kitang-kita agad.
