while on file manager, hit the left button beside digit "0" (one with Menu) text it will ask list/display modes then there's the sort.
I think i have a different variant of E8HD, since no sort whatsoever only list/location when you press that button,
But the only solution is to use NTFS format, so it will be sorted via name if written on your file system, if your unit does not have sort capabilities, because ext4 puts files in random order.
Haven't tried ext3 ill try it tomorrow. Now, i have tried also XFS and EXT2 to use it in your linux media server if you have one so it will be sorted by name when written in the file system so your E8HD which is not capable of sorting will be automatically sorted out, because using EXT3, EXT4, ReiserFS but with same not sorted on name result.
I wont be using EXT2 because its old and does not support journaling, while NTFS is not linux native, not unless im using a windows media server, so i chose XFS.
*just posted it here for info and future reference for other users.
