rmpla,

so the tda's will make good bass amps! ;D ;D

yes, kung ang comaprison eh OPA 549 o 541. mas madali kasing mag-distort yung sound ng OPA 541 sa loud volume then followed by OPA 549. but that's just me  :).

the opa541 can take higher rails than the opa549, therefore can dish out more power.

not sure about the exact figure but based from TI's datasheet, OPA541 output current - 5A while OPA549 output current -10A

sir tony, are you still in the here o nasa russia na kayo?

the chip with the higher rail can put put more power in theory, but there are other things to consider, SOA limits the op541 to 5amps, but parralelling several devices will give more power into say 4 ohms, the ability of the opa549 to deliver more current stems from its lower rails.

operating the opa541 at rail levels same as the opa549 can give you the same output currents., the chipmaker just would like to make sure that the opa541 is not abused. ;D

my trip to russia is delayed pending medical clearance issues, i may still be here for chrisstmas..

sir jojoD
bka nxt yir n ko ppunta jan senyo, busy p eh,  mag ppasko marami png binabalot ;D ;D ;D

these small chips needs needs decent heatsinking if it is to survive usage at near full power. it is harder to fake ic's than transistors. i you want your 215 protected, do not skimp on the heatsink!

Tony's right, the bigger the heatsink the better. Download mo yun datasheet ng 7294 at may computation yun for sure ng heatsink requirements. That way protected ang investment mo sa pagkasunog.

As far as my GC projects are concerned I never use tone controls anymore - but can use one if desired of course, maybe others can share their "usual" input preamps wether active or passive.

anybody for a group buy of conrad engineering heatsinks? those 150mm x 300mm and 150mm x 400mm heatsinks are yummy! maybe we can get a good price if purchased in bulk. ;D

thanks,  sir jojoD  /  sir 2ny.
your right, d bigger d better.   thats why im looking for a better aluminum casing.  i saw some thick aluminum pan  here in factory, cguro pede n rin yun ;D  linis lng ng konte mukha nring bago..

is it true,  tda7294 can dissipates 100 watts of heat?  kc un ang nkalagay dun s datasheet.   so ang RMS nito mga 50 watts?  :D

conrad engineering heatsinks ??? sir 2ny, mukhang heavygat yan ah?!!! ;D ;D

that rating is based on a case temp of 25*C, actually this is not realistic, you still have to mount that chip on a heatsink, so some derating is required, otherwise your chip will fry! ;D

the 50watt output otoh, is based on rails of +/-35 volts with an 8 ohm load. more power can be achieved with higher rails and lower loads, but at the expense of higher heat, which is not healthy for your chip, or the protection circuit on the chip will be triggered.

why not? this is doable!you can go to sulimco metals in aranque market and get this 1.5mm aluminum sheet , there are bending machine shops nearby that can make a chassis for you. ;D

khelo 275,
unfortunately both are OPA 549 amps but  TDA's can also fit inside of the chassis.

check out the gainclone thread, naadun yung internals pati yung wooden chassis para sa TDA 7294.

goodluck  :)

yes, oriental can be trusted, i also buy from liamson, newport, hirose, eleshop.....you have to be carefull when buying form deeco....

rmpla,

this is almost a 4-year old quote from Sir TonyT.  :)
Anyways, correct ka po sir TonyT.
Share ko lang.
I have an AR Status Sub 25A (Acoustic Research powered subwoofer) and it uses a single TDA7294V with +/- 40v DC.

May -40v DC out, kaya naka trigger ung relay speaker protector.
I bought 2 pcs, spare lang ung isa.
LM3875TF = P 280
LM3886TF = P 300
