to sum it all. it's 36bits depth color

I think philips & sharp LCD has 48bits :D

LG 50PK550  has 48 bits depth color

Samsung plasmas got 54 bits depth color

truly mind boggling compared to the lowly 24 bits and 30 bits of the majority of LCDs.

@jerix

Yes it's good:

Pros:

+Very strong Standard definition performance (Cable&DVD)
+Very good High-Definition performance with movies at 720p (Blu-Ray/NMT)
+Generally accurate colors
+Resistance to I.R is better than higher models such as the V20
+Lower power consumption compared to older plasma models
+Well priced

Cons:

-Very reflective screen
-Green trails evident in high contrast ares and FPS games
-Mild image retention (Temporary)
-Not really a big cut above older plasma models in-terms of picture quality

Conclusion:

Another year, another plasma from Panasonic... The X20 is a very good 720p native panel. And strong in areas that really matter to a viewer, such as accurate colors, and with picture quality that is even better than some of the FULL HD panels out there. However, I'm tired of the near same old, same stuff, Panasonic throws at us at the turn of every calendar.

The X20 is a perfect road to start out for those wishing to journey down the High-Definition bandwagon - Maintaining the strong features that made Panasonic a wonder boy in the race dominated by liquid crystal powered competitors. But offers really nothing new every year to get me truly excited.

Again, if this your 1st High Definition TV, it's a great way to start, but if you already own the older models such as the Panasonic PV70 up to the Panasonic C10...I guess you should look elsewhere for a totally new fix.

Cheers!

sir, which is better, c10 or x20?  I have the 50 inch c10 already.  Im happy with it naman but im considering to get a new one.  But this time i want a full hd one.  Just out of curiosity, which is better c10 or x20?

Been using our 42X20 from Feb 12 to Feb 28 with an average of 4 hours a day with no significant increase in our electric bill.

Just updating...

Nearly the same. The C10 at first, may have an advantage because the X20 does not have a color management option.

Carlo, do you play classic Ps1 games from PSN on the 42 x20?

Do I have to worry about IR for 4:3 sources?

I know you've probably been asked this question a thousand of times already  :D :D

My wife plays a lot of classic Japanese PS1 games like Super Robot Wars, that I can't darn understand. So far all is fine and dandy!

To those who want to have the motionflow/trumotion effect on this TV, do the following:

1. Set your media player / source at 720p@50hz / 1080i@50hz / 1080p@50hz.
2. Go to the TV's menu and select Setup
3. Select Other Settings
4. You will be able to change refresh rate to 100hz for a 'smoother effect'.

Unfortunately for xbox users, if your unit is US/Japan you won't be able to change it because it only supports 60hz for all resolutions.

Sir is this also available on 50x20? I love motionflow/trumotion effect as if you' re watching a live program. And if does, then now it's the right time to buy this babe. Tia

It shouLd work on 50x20 as well. However its not much to look forward because it actually chops a bit on panning shots like the usual LEDs. If you are planning to get a 50" tv, go ahead and get the x20 as it is a very good model for its price with or without 100hz feature.

Guys may i ask if it is okay to watch movie na may black bars sa gilid using this plasma 42x20?

Im using kaiboer H1055 as media player, wala kasi setting dun na fullscreen nakakainis kaya kadalasan yun movie ko may black bars sa gilid. would that be okay? masisira ba yun x20 ko?

Pahingi naman ng color setting so i can maximize my viewing using this plasma medyo nakukulangan kasi ako sa contrast especially pag cinema mode. Sanay kasi ako sa lcd kaya parang nanibago ako medyo nakukulangan ako sa sharpness and contrast.

Hope you guys can help me. Thanks in advance..

I think the setting on the screen size depends on the source your playing, no matter what player your using. In any case, the x20 has screen size settings. If you want it full screen the tv can handle that. But for my case I want to watch a movie on its native resolution/screen size and not stretch.

Would that be okay if i watch movie not in full screen and there's a black bars on the side using this plasma? hindi ba magkakaroon ng image retention? thanks

I'm using Kaiboer H1055, it is the same firmware with H1055 plus the only difference is that plus has a tray for internal hardisk.

The only downside in this media player is that wala siya full screen kaya mamomoblema ka sa black bars.

Xtreamer actually has zoom capability. Pede na pa vertical lng to remove black bars. Medyo stretched nga lang ng konti yun picture but i think its negligible.

No more video aspect ratio problems with the new FW ver 20101115. I just pressed the system defaults. and rebooted and voila... no more black spaces on the perimeter screen.

PS: Sorry, OT ba ako? Concerned lang ako kasi bibili kami ng X20 plasma + H1055+

The used of grey color side bars is to prevent your tv from image retention, prolong exposure of your tv with black bars will result to intense image retention which sometimes will take days for the image shadow to disappear.
