Normally it is okay just to use one sub input. However, you can actually get more dB when you use both inputs on your subwoofer.

This is how I had my subwoofer connected:




Of course any "Y" connector will do. I just did mine like this for added porma, 

Besides, I wanted to use the same kind of cable throughout the connection from the HT receiver to the subwoofer's left and right inputs. Well, it's just me. 

i used other types of Y connectors for my [preamp===>subwoofer] but are of poor quality... the Y-connector posted (thru pictures) by sir Bogsle is what i highly recommend as it has an ALL metal body and it has better contact to RCA terminals...

FWIW, months ago i used 5 meters run of inexpensive QUANTUM (black color rubberized jacket) cables... DIY and rca terminated... i had no complaints but rather very good experience... no noise interference picked up from power cables...

It is in Festival Mall, 4th level and they only have 2 more left. The damage was 1.2k.  Btw, the length of the cable is 3m.

i got mine in Hong Kong but i found these all metal Y-connectors around Makati & Shangri-La Mall area... you may try to look for Elmo at MCS (Makati Cinema Square) as he might still have source for these... or AVDI at Shang... maybe brother Jeff (Theater Works, Trinoma) have these too...

i am not sure if Raon st. Manila reseller's have these but it is the place for reasonably priced parts for our hobby

Found my "Generic" Y cable (one female to 2 RCA) at Listen Up at Glorietta. They have one for a hundred pesos and more expensive ones

I have pair of this but got problem with the tight spacing of my preamp output....
