Ender's Game (2013) --the whole fate of the human race is being gambled on a kid? Hmmm...even if the kid's a genius, he is still immature to accept that big responsibility in his hands. Looking past that, I think it is an interesting watch for the sci-fi genre making use of CGI. The surround sound and LFEs were top notch making the movie very immersive. I just don' t get the game or the target audience of this flick is for juveniles. Oh by the way, Asa Butterfield reminds me of Patrick Garcia.

Just finished Serenity (Joss Whedon). Thumbs up! And it made me realize anew, why I love sci-fi movies.

Btw, Whedon assembled what would turn out later to be an all star cast:

Nathan Fillion, who is now in Castle.
Gina Torres, now in Suits.
Morena Baccarin, Homeland and V.
Summer Glau, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Chiwetel Ejiofor, 12 Years A Slave, Children of Men
Sarah Paulson, 12 Years A Slave, among many other credits in movies and TV.

Franco Zeffirelli's Jesus of Nazareth

Saw it way back when it was aired as a 6 or 8 part mini series & remember how we all sobbed uncontrollably during the crucifixion. Well, I'm in my late 40's now & it still hits me.
