The Tourist

Started out fine but was a letdown in the second part.  It's a so-so movie featuring two of my fave stars - Angelina and Johnny.

Modern Marvels: Eggs - nagutom ako after
Street Kings 2: Motorcity (alternative source) - just like the first. Don't watch with an IQ
Sorcerer's Apprentice - I wonder what is happening to Nicolas Cage's acting???  ???

City Slickers

- It's a movie about self realization and hanging on to that "one thing" where your life evolves.   Jack Palance as leather faced Curly, one of the last authentic untamed cowboys, was just so perfect in his role.  I just love fast talking Billy Crystal.  He can deliver his funny lines with a serious face and you will still laugh. With supporting actors like Daniel Stern (Phil) who was just as funny and Bruno Kirby (Ed) injecting his philosophies about battling the middle age crisis.  Saw this movie before but didn't notice that Jake Gyllenhaal was in this as the son of Mitch (Billy Crystal) until this viewing.  ::)  This is one of the quality comedies that I like to watch over and over again.   :D

Mitch Robbins: Hi Curly. Killed anyone today?
Curly: The day ain't over yet...

Blue Crush

-this movie will make you remember those young beach romances.  I could almost feel the sticky beach air, saltwater and the summer sun.  Kate Bosworth with her rosy cheeks and tanned skin would really go for a beach lass. The ending though I find it lacking after being pumped up to watch more surfing moves.  Guess this is not the X-games.   It is a girl surfer's movie but admittedly enjoyed watching it.

Today's views:

Hangover
- IMO, much much better than the second one. 4/5

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
- Watched this on p-vcd on its release years ago. Surprisingly, its like watching it for the first time since i realized, I never got the chance to finish it before. Unlike other Final Fantasy storyline in the games or the FF7, for me this one fell behind because of its pseudo realism. And animation is at its primitiveness which is quite astonishing during that time. 3/5

AI: Artificial Intelligence
- My second view since I bought the DVD last 2009. For me, this movie is really sad and heavy for my rate of multiple views but the combination of Kubrick and Spielberg was really gravitating. 5/5

-how would you feel if you wake up one morning in a Twilight Zone wherein somebody has taken your identity and some group of thugs trying to kill you. A very moving suspense thriller which starred veteran actor Liam Neeson.  I begin to be a fan again of his action movies after watching adrenaline packed Taken.  Again he delivered well in this film.  I am just amazed how he could keep up with this adrenaline demanding roles even with his age.  I found this movie a Bourne Identity clone with the car chase scenes, setting in a European country, etc.  I thought the girl actor Gina (Dianne Krugger--no relation to Freddy)  looked like Kirsten Dunst and for a while there it kept me thinking.   ::) The setting of this movie is mostly European where you can appreciate the sites. Very nice twist at the end.  Two thumbs up!
