I read the KAIBOIER sees the internal SATA disk as USB, I assume it does internally has a SATA-> USB converter inside, but the circuitry is USB 2.0.
I have a Measy E8HD in the kitchen and it sees the 250GB drive as SATA, so reads are faster.
If an MT or NMT is capable of both SATA and USB, i'd use SATA any day (SATA transfer feed is 3.0GBps vs USB 2.0 max of 0.480GBps (~ 480mbps).
Has anyone tried playback of a 40GB sized bluray in your Kaiboer MT off USB, just to see if it will statter in esp. in fast action scenes?
If you are happy with 1080p < 10GB files, you should be ok with the USB interface, just know the SATA vs. USB throughput difference, and that SATA to USB exactly is just a SATA disk connected to a USB connection , and thus is still just USB.
Egreat R6B is 100% USB and is also Realtek 1055. R200 is 2 x USB 2.0 + 2 x SATA (internal drive and external drive).
p.s.While USB 3.0 is much improved throughput, dont hope for NMT with USB host that is USB 3.0, coz most are using USB 3.0 as slave (meaning PC to the MT/NMT as storage)
Damn! >:(I was expecting the hdd to be installed inside as native sata!
so, KAIBOIER 1055+ designers want the hdd to act as removable drive like a hdd mobile rack?
In this case they should also sell hdd trays too.
IIRC SATA already supports hot swapping, so what gives?
I do hope besides usb 3.0, hdd media players designers should consider esata or power esata as standard for file operations between pc and other external drives
