guys, has anyone encountered this problem? --> after continuosly playing 3 HD movies, my audio become distorted. at first i suspected my Amp, but tried the CDP and it sounds normal. I switched the H1055 audio out via HDMI, but same issue, as well as via RCA out. Even playing music can reproduce the same issue. I powered it off, let it rest for an hour and everything went back to normal. After 2 movies, there goes the problem again. so far, the player is well-ventilated naman, and doesnt even feel hot during those times.

Sounds like a chip/processor problem,...

Just got my H1055+. The manual is in chinese.  >:( Just wanted to know if you can remove the black bars while watching a movie by zooming aka Xtreamer where you can adjust vertical and horizontal levels manually till the movie fills the whole screen? What I can do as of the moment is just do zoom 2x, 3x, etc. cropping the picture.

I dont know, but adjusting the ratio (zoom, 16:9, 4:3,etc) on my LG is a breeze. I always see to it that the image fills the entire viewing area of my 50" LG.

Thanks Sam for the response.  So your aspect ratio adjustment is on the TV and not on the NMT to eliminate the black bars.   I was just used to my Mede8er and Xtreamer in doing the adjustments.   ;)

good day gurus,

been reading alot on media players.

i don't wanna spend too much on a mt and saw this thread about the 1055,

priced just right 3300 for the plus model add 4500 for a 2 tb hdd.  think this will be good enough.

just wondering if picture and audio quality is at par with more expensive players?

also since the 1055 is non network mt, is it a big loss if i get this unit? i just want to watch good quality movies.

thanks

It's a good buy, don't hesitate.  As far network connectivity, well, are you going to use any network connectivity?              then there you go.

to resolve my issue regarding top and bottom black bars while playing mkv files from H1055plus, i simply press the zoom button on the remote.

may konting naco-crop sa movie left and right pero mas ok na yun kesa may black bars top and bottom.
under first 100 hours pa lang kase LG 42pw350r ko hehehe, iwas burn muna.

1 week din ang inubos ko bago bumili ng cheap-ass media player (pero malupit ang performance) para di naman masayang yung pambili, cheap ako e. with free HDMI, malupit na picture quality even audio quality (with avr ofcourse) its a steal!  ;D

I have been enjoyin my H1055 until i encountered BR rips with 2 channel audio that the unit cannot  read. Meaning the excellent video is showing minus the sound. I played the same file on my Egreat m34a without any problem. Has anybody encountered this case on their H1055?

I think you need to change your settings from passthrough to downmix or just change the Audio out settings kung anong available.. SInce it's a BR rip its possible that it's sending DD HD or DTS MA to your receiver and your receiver is unable to decode those or kung capable naman receiver mo it;s possible naman na your NMT is not capable of passthing thru those signals... Try playing with it sir..

RU9, Courage, with the H1055 hooked on my onkyo 608 via HDMI, coaxial and composite the receiver should have detected and played the audio because the onkyo automatically detects the available audio signal, either HDMI, coaxial or composite. Initially I was worrying that the culprit was the receiver because i have not actually tested on using the receiver's composite and coaxial audio inputs. But when i used my egreat m34a having the same audio setup, the audio played on the 3 audio inputs. I toggled on HDMI, coaxial and the composite (RCA left and right) and the audio sounded clear.

Maybe the reason why your onkyo is not detecting the signal is because the NMT is not sending the correct signal, If the NMT is playing DD HD/DTS MA material and it's not capable of sending it to the receiver then basically its not sending the signal at all. Does your Kaiboer has the latest firmware? Also sending the signal to your receiver also depends on the audio setting of your NMT

I also played with all the audio options of the kaiboer, LPCM and RAW i think, but to no avail. But with the Egreat, the audio file was detected in all connections.

I think I can forgive my 1055+ for a little cropping when zooming to eliminate top and bottom black bars but when I am watching 4:3 TV shows such as my kid's Barney, it is so hard to eliminate left and right black bars. When zooming, the cropping just takes a lot out of the picture plus the PQ deteriorates. If I were too choose, just add a little more for an NMT that can manually adjust zoom vertically and horizontally specially those using plasma TVs.

Check the unit firmware, your media player firmware version must be 335473 and firmware date is 20101115 or the latest. If not, you can download this firmware version here http://www.ebuyph.com/PictureShow.asp?P_ID=1344

@ jerix,

Bring the unit to them na lang and let them install the firmware. At least, if they can't update it too, perhaps they can replace the unit.

I think this is the next option bro.

After extracting the rar file and getting the image file on the blank fat32 USB, I inserted that in the H1055. From the MISC i clicked on the version update, after a while the "Found no update" prompt appeared. were there steps that i missed?

the 1055 doesn't have the capability to download.  There are NMTs capable of that function, but of course more expensive.

If you're NMT can download, then it makes sense you'll save on electricity compared to having your PC on all the time downloading.  NMT only consume 12-20 watts AFAIK. So, that's one advantage of a downloading NMT.  I download using my laptop, so it's all the same to me.
