"if it ain't broke then don't fix it"

i always follow this rule unless mandatory ang update. I am super satisfied with my 1055 and since day 1 di ko pa na uupdate ang firmware kasi wala naman problema eh..

Hello there! I am a H1055 user. Well, I used it for a year before it kinda broke. "Kinda" kasi it still turns on, makikita parin yung GUI, as in gumagana naman, pero when you insert any media (SD Card/USB Flashdrive/External HD), may power but the contents aren't detected. I checked sa laptop, my media are good naman. What do you think might be the problem, sirs? I don't want to think that the H1055 is disposable, sayang naman... For me kasi it's a great all around media player... :(

Just got my H1055 today, flashed it to the latest firmware (April) and I think it's dead. :'(

It won't get past the Kaiober logo- goes to the Kaiober logo for a few secs and then reboots, Kaiboer logo again. I did the "emergency flash" procedure with the reset button multiple times, tried older versions of the firmware too and same thing- stops at the Kaiober logo, reboots.

Any suggestions? I'd hate to send it back being that I just got it. I haven't even used it yet.
Sir, HD, this is an old post.  Just been accepted into this thread as a member couple of days ago but let me comisserate with you.  I too got this type of HD media playert over a month ago.  Since it had a hard time reading mkv and m4v files, I got the itch to flash/upgrade its memory which I finally did.  I ended up bricking my unit.   Several attempts to re flash the FW via the emergency procedure - reset sw depressed while clicking on the small toggle switch at the back -  did not do any good.  What I thought was a breezy upgrade procedure ended in a "nightmare" and it seems there's no way out except to ship the unit back to the manufacturer which is very impractical.  What about yours?  were you able to revive it  or simply used it as a "brick" to weigh down things?  However, if you were able to unbrick it, kindly share what you did.  Thank you.  makeZens

in the first place bakit niyo inaupgrade yung FW?

been using h1055 for quite some time and ok naman po. its doing whats its suppose to do. kakadeliver nga lang ng 2nd unit for my parents house.

frequenzy sir,

reason why the unit was upgraded was it doesnt recognize and play mkv/m4v files when there shouldn't problem in doing so.  besides, the upgrade option is there for the taking and the manufacturer shouldnt have put this option when the risk of messing up the unit is too high.  flashing and reflashing gadgets with rom should be a breeze not a headache.  technical support from the manufacturer likewise should be super abundant.  in this case, somebody like me has to bleed to get support from them and it appears that the only life saver left is digitag.  and for me living several hundred kms. away from the metropolis, running to digitag will be quite impractical. for those living near it is a big advantage.  however, i still pray that one day a kind soul will find time to provide in this forum the technical help/cure for unbricking kaiboer h1055 units (others too).  thanks

if its only on a particular mkv then its probably the file. m4v is not really a standard format just like wmv. also you bought a china based player at a low price and you are expecting support is abundant. there is a trade-off when we purchased this type of players. anyway i would suggest shipping the player to the store.

i had expected kaiboer h1055 to outperform Amlogic-based Nbox33 which was able to read said files.  Nbox was able to flawlessly read/play mkv and m4v video formats.  However, I decided to get kaiboer H1055 for its features not offered by Nbox. Chances are, as you have suggested, my unit is going back to the store where I purchased it.  I had expected that, on my own, I would be able to "resuscitate" the unit, with you and others' help in this thread, before I ship it back to the store.

The drivers were installed but I still can't see the drive..

Can anyone help please... Thanks a million  :)

Remove the hdmi cable that's connected to your TV and it will show up.

Hi Guys, just wanted to know if the D-link DNS 320 NAS would be compatible / detected by the Kaiboer H1055Plus as an external host drive.

Thanks a lot  :)

kung ang bibilhin mo na HT ay "makabagong model" mostly ang input/output ay HDMI na.
magiging configuration nito ay:
 Audio/Video:  MT---> HT--->TV
since HDMI na.magkasama na dito ang audio at video sa iisang cable.

kung ang bibilhin mo naman ay "lumang model"(walang HDMI)
ang magiging configuration mo ay:
Audio: MT--->HT (via optical or coaxial cable)
 Video: MT--->TV (via HDMI cable)

check mo dito ang set-up at settings:
http://www.futeko.com/products/MP00025/kaiboer-h1055-realtek-sdk-4.php

Hi newbie question po. If the HTIB doesn't have coax input and you only connect via rca, it would only be stereo/2.1 right? But what does that really mean? Does it mean only the 2 front speakers lang and the sub ang may audio?

Sorry sa ignorant question, i haven't owned a 5.1 setup pa kasi, naka edifier 2.1 lang ako :) I want to buy a htib and i can only afford the low-ends which im almost sure has no coax in. Or baka pa il only be able to afford yung mga 5.1 speakers ng logitec/creative na less than 4k.

^yes sir, 2.1 ang makukuha mo.

makakakauha ka ng 5.1ch either sa HDMI,COAXIAL,FOC or 6ch RCA

kung HTIB,makakakuha ka ng less than 15k. kompleto na yun sa speakers.
atleast yun mapag ipunan mo.

Thank you Sir Karloff sa sagot mo. Madyo ma-tagal2x pa pala ako maka enjoy sa 5.1 ng kaiboer ko  :'(

EDIT: What if the HTIB only has optical input, would something like this work for the Kaiboer?

I think for 5k you can get a decent preowned SAMSUNG set na may optical input. DTS with NMT would more than suffice, the TRUEHD/DTS-MA may not play pero if you stick with AC3 and DTS sa HD content, which is really more common, you will be all set.

if you will go with seperates, magastos but adviseable pag meron hang dedicated HT.

I started with an HTIB for the longest time, and quite happy with it. pero gawa ng kulam, i went for seperates.

HTH optical cable is king.

Thanks everyone for the replies/suggestions. I'll get nalang muna a HTiB with optical input because I can't find one with coax that's cheap. Also, just noticed that my TV has optical out, so baka mag work yung:

Kaiboer > TV (HDMI) > HTiB (Optical)

otherwise, i'll just buy that coax-to-optical converter  :)

Thanks again!
