I believe 3TB needs GPT partition to bypass the 2.2TB limit. not sure H1055 can read GPT. If ever you get a chance to install one please post the results here

http://www.pcworld.com/article/235088/everything_you_need_to_know_about_3TB_hard_drives.html

Will do. I was looking at the reviews/comments at iboum for 1055 and there was a post saying:

"Just connected a 3TB Seagate GoFlex Extnernal HDD to the player and it appears to work flawlessly which is a nice bonus."

found here: http://www.iboum.com/pr/kaih1055.php

I just hope it's true

Anyway, what if we partition a 3TB to two 1.5TB partitions.

I read before and here it is:

Siyempre....iyun report nga ni ESI ItO' o'....."Recognizing my 3 1TB external drives hooked up on a multiple USB plug was a breeze"

Would it be read similarly by Kaiboer or it will be different?

Update:

My initial theory is correct. My Kaiboer H1055Plus was able to recognize my new 3TB WD MyBook Essentials. What my friend does before sending the hdd to me was to partition the drive to two.

My Kaiboer recognizes the drive as a USB external drive and when you click on USB icon, two drives are recognized and movie files on both are played and access.

I just don't know if the Kai can recognize the drive without the partition as I haven't tested it because it's too tedious to format and transfer files.

I have a problem today with my Kaiboer 1055plus.  I brought my unit to another location and attached it to another HDTV via HDMI. Nothing appeared. I tried changing the HDMi cable wala parin.  i then tried attaching it via an RCA cable.  Initially the Kaiboer logo appears but when it comes to the main menu it becomes unreadable. Parang black and white in multiple partial screens. Hindi mabasa.

When it was in the house ok naman.  When I got back home, I attached it again to my original HDTV pero ganun na din. Any fix to this?

my Kaiboer 1055+ gave up on me.

may power siya, pero walang menu na lumalabas sa TV. pinakiramdaman ko parang ayaw na ding basahin ang 3.5HDD inside. pag inalis ko yun at nagkabit ako ng external hdd via usb wala pa din.

I haven't tested other connections yet

I just bought another 1055+ from an online seller. it's bnew but without remote. got it for 2K.

It's a good deal na din as i won't have to buy an external enclosure for my 2TB hdd that was inside my two-year old 1055 that got broken. Plus it reads my 3TB WD.

What i don't understand is that i now have the option to eject my hdd and usb drives from the remote, a function that isn't working on my previous kai. A firmware difference I guess

My h1055+ is still going strong 3 yrs and counting. This is really one of the best budget buy I've ever made.

Sir, I got the same issue with my Kai 1055 and my remedy was to send it to the store where I purchase it. They then sent my device to china for a board replacement. they charge me 1K for the board replacement.

kung 1K okay na din sa akin.

Digitag ba yan?

hindi na covered ng warranty ang unit ko e, will I shoulder the shipping to and from China?

yes, when my 1055 lost its video but has power it is as well out of warranty. they shoulder the shipping of the unit back and forth sa China. sinabay nila sa shipping nila. pero the headsup is medyo matagal it took 2 months before I got it back.

I have the Kaiboer 1185 H1073+ for almost 3 years and its still working fine!
Had modified the internals to allow more air in to the hard drive as it can get pretty hot.

The only issue I am having with it now is that after playing an HD file, and you play another HD file right after,
the second HD file will only play for 10 seconds then stop. You have to press stop. Wait for the HD file to load and press play and tuloy tuloy na siya.

What mods did you do sir? The small built in fan sure isn't enough to dissipate the heat. I myself added a cheap notebook cooling pad under it that I got from cdr king for 120 bucks that's plugged in to one of its usb ports. Does the job naman

Very basic lang naman. Disassembled the unit and found out that the air from the fan is not really getting inside to cool the hard drive. So i sawed off part of the wall where you slide your hd in to allow more air. It doesnt compromise the integrity of the structure.

My h1055+ is now acting up, whenever my internal disk is inserted and i insert a usb thumbdrive nag hahang yung unit. Pero if i remove the internal hdd then insert a usb drive oki sya.
Kapag yung internal disk lang din alone oki sya.
Anu kaya prob nito?

Kai H1055 still alive and kicking, 3yrs now.. wondering if there's still a firmware update available? problem lang naman so far is yung mga newer HTML tagged subtitles (i.e color changes).. Ang gulo na screen minsan kasi kasama yung literal na HTML tags pag nilalabas yung mga subs.. other than this problem, so far ok pa naman lahat..

sadly, my H1055 died on me yesterday while switching it on...I thought the blinking blue pilot light was  caused by a bloated capacitor inside the ac adaptor but whallaaa, nung binuksan ko yung player sunog yung isang IC...di yata kinaya yung external hd ko na 3.0 WD My Pasport...so far naka-2 yrs. naman siya sa akin.
