Thanks!

Am already a member, unfortunately my mobo is a full atx. I guess I have to go with the Lian Li htpc case.
I went fishing the other day, and I caught a BIG ONE!

Tried hooking my HTPC to my Epson EMP-S3  projector and definitely resolution and video quality kicks the butt out of my Philips DVD player with progressive scan.  I'm happy I made the right decision.  ;D

sir ano specs ng HTPC mo?

Thanks

Nice receiver. I used to have an 1802 before I upgraded to 3803. I coupled that with a Rotel power amp and it rocked!!!

Nice one voj!  Galing!

Just wondering if having a separate sound card (with SPDIF out) would fare better in sound quality as compared to the integrated MOBO soundcard with SPDIF out considering that the DD and DTS soundtracks are just passing through this output if you are going to use an HT receiver?

Nice one Voj!!!!

Mel, the onboard spdif can only pass AC-3 , DTS and PCM Stereo.  The Xmystique that Voj got from me, can do realtime AC-3 encoding. So even analog sources, sounds from computer games, mp3, VCD, TV Tuner, will be converted to Dolby Digital. :)

Just sold the last Xmystique yesterday!

Thanks mel and jay  ;D,

Sayang, Jay, one guy at TipidPC HQ kept asking me to sell the Xmystique to him and I told him to contact you (come to think of it baka siya na nga bumili nung last mo  ;D)  Anyway, papatulong pa rin ako sa iyo, ha.  Hindi nila forte HTPC marami pang fine-tuning kailangan.

Babinang lent me an Athlon 64 3200+ just so we can boot test the parts so that I can return any defective parts I might have bought.  The Ninja Plus CPU cooler turned out to be too big for the case, luckily, someone took it off my hands there for a little less than what I bought it for.  Now waiting for the price drop.

This is a great Sound card, very similar to the Xmystique but with the addition of DTS connect.

Xmystique = Realtime Dolby Digital Encoding.
Xplosion = Realtime Dolby Digital Encoding and Realtime DTS encoding. (yes it can do both)

How come when I watch DVDs using my DVD player, my projector reads that the resolution is 525p.  But when I use the PC to watch DVDs in my projector, it reads 800x600 up to 1260x768 not 480p, 525p or 720p.

Is there any equivalent on the computer's resolution to the dvd's resolution? I'm kind confused with these values.

Meron ka ba gamit na specific software to manage resolution sa HTPC mo? like Powerstrips or equivalent?

I'm guess you are using VGA (PC input) on your projector. Not sure if this will work, but you can try to set your video card to output a standard HDTV signal.  for 720p set your display to 1280x720 @ 60hz.  If you PJ displays 1280x720 and not 720 maybe its just because you are connected via VGA and the PJ is assuming the signal is a PC.

In my case, my LCD TV displays 1280x720 60hz using my htpc.  I hooked up a samsung upscaling DVD player to my LCD using the DVI port and when I selected 720p the LCD TV displayed 1280x720 60hz, I selected 1080i on the player and the LCD displayed 1920x1080i 60hz.

It shouldnt really matter what your PJ displays, as long as you know you are outputing the resolution you want.
