Demo palang yan as of now, pag after a few days di pa halata kay misis maging permanent fixture na yan.

QUESTION:

I'm demoing a REGA ELEX-R Integrated Amp and will be comparing it with NAD 165BEE/NAD 275BEE Amp separates. Rega is rated 72 watts 2 ch driven, NAD Amp is rated 150 watts 2 ch driven.

If i use the NAD amp to connect to the REGA Pre-out. Please gurus, answer the 4 questions

1. Will this combo inherit the sound of the Rega now that the Rega's function is just a pre-amp?
2. If not, will this setup inherit the sound of NAD since NAD is the POWER AMP?
3. Will It will mess up the sound, better stay with 165/275 combo or Use the REGA as is?
4. What do you think would be the result in your opinion?
5. Is it a good idea if i want more power for the REGA?

I'm just curious guys..I know some of you will say just listen and compare but i just want some opinion he he he.... THANKS!!!!!

My opinion says it will inherit the nad sound... but, since you get the chance to try it, kami ang balitaan mo. Congrats on the new toys....

NAD is not known to be a neutral amp so may effect pa rin yan kahit power amp. Rega is not neutral din so maghalo lang pareho yung sound nila.

Ikaw ang makakasagot niyan idol based on your judgement. Rega by nature sounds tube-y. Relaxed and Laid Back. Probably it will inherit that sound signature but still keeping the dynamic reserve coming from your power amp. Kitakits on Friday. Can't wait to audition your highend gears.

This not mine he he he dinedemo ko lang out of curiosity.. So far so good. Really cant tell which is better kasi parehong maganda. I'm now comparing the Rega and NAD as both pre-amp while using the 275 as Amp. Rega is relaxed while the other is a little of the opposite pero walang may lamang. Again preference lang kung anong tunog ang mas gusto mo. Problem is, i both like how they sounded ha ha ha... The thing is i'm comparing them at low level listening.. Puyat na naman...

yesterday i was also toying the idea of cayin tube pre-amp + nad 275. ano kaya resulta? best of tube and SS at the same time?

Pumasok din sa isip ko yan.. Best of Tube Sound but with Power of SS..Will it be like having a Tube Amp that has 150 watts of power he he he(i dont know, maybe gurus here can answer yung yung may gumawa na ng ganyan)? kaso wala ako mahiraman ng Tube Pre-amp.. usually, the preamp will affect the sound more than the power amp. regarding how it will sound, depends talaga sa listener pards.

Mahirap talaga mag compare. Better to have both nalang para hindi ka mahirapan mag decide. hehehe!

BTW, the rega has a good phono. perfect for your analog upgrade. hehehe!

I can lend you one when you feel like trying a tube pre-amp.
The advantage of a tube Pre-amp is you can tailor the sound to you preference by tube rolling, eliminating the need to change gears.
