NAD Pre-Amp vs Rega Elex-R running as Pre-amp

ANOTHER QUESTION

Upon comparing both as Pre-amp

I need to crank up a little sa volume knob ng Rega to make the output level matched with the NAD. The difference is, sa NAD is 9 oclock and to match it with Rega, the rega needs to be at 10 oclock sa volume knob. The level matching is based on SPL meter

Is there an advantage or disadvantage on this or ik lang talaga to. I'm using one amp for both comparison

+1. Before getting a Jolida 300B SET integrated amp, I have paired a Cayin tube preamp with a Rotel RB1080, a 200 wpc SS amp and the result was great until the upgrade itch came along.

Medyo technical na yan bro...

BUT your ears will eventually decide...Try also Jojo's tube preamp para lalo kang makulam, este para lalo mong ma-compare which appeals more to your listening preference.

Just my thoughts, though...A NAD-NAD pair is better than a REGA-NAD pair...

Almarro 318B
Rogers E20A
Audionote OTO SE Signature
Leben CS-300

These amps will definitely match your excellent speakers!

Your using pink noise or 1khz test tone? Minsan asa curve yan ng amp. some amps are boosted 80hz and if you use 1khz, parang mahina pero pag tenga tenga, malakas na pala.

Anyway, not being too technical, as long as you don't hear distorsion, your good to go!

Yes i used Pink noise to level matched. Does it has something to do as well sa Pre-Amp output level ng dalawa? The Rega Pre-Amp output level is measured 625mV, yung NAD iba kasi ang measurement >10V into 600 Ohms nakalagay sa manual

Honestly,you don't need high-powered amps/power amps for your speakers...I am using a 10WPC integrated amplifier and it fills my 20sqm room with music, regardless if it is Diana Krall or Steve Tyler...

Your advantage is that you have tons of choices since your speakers are highly efficient.

If you're happy with the NAD-NAD combo, you can retain...but if you're looking for a "different flavor", hybrid or pure tube is a good route for you...

Try to borrow a Line Magnetic 6550 Integrated Amp...I am sure you'll be happy with this...I have used this amp briefly with the DeCapos and I was happy...BUT IMHO Class A amplifiers, though running hotter and warmer perfectly mates with the DeCapos which you also have...

I have recommended the above amps as I have heard them paired actually with the DeCapos so I am recommending based on experience and not just via technical matching, etc.

The DeCapos sound best with AN, Leben, Rogers...
