Kahit na mag-i-inquire ka lang kailangan mo pang pumila, pagdating ng turn mo wala pala hinahanap mo, bad trip yun... pwede ka naman sagutin ng "meron" o "wala" in the first place... it happened to me at the Glorieta Branch, i also shouted at them na "Ang tanga-tanga ng gumawa ng sistema nyo!!!"

Magtatanong ka lang kung "meron ba nito + item?", di ka sasagutin kung meron o wala, pumila ka daw muna.. di ba bad trip pagkatapos mo pumila ng mahaba then wala pala in the end hinahanap mo... >:(

Sorry I disagree with you. I like their numbering system. I want people to be disciplined in this country and I think this is a great way to do it. I don't care if somebody is asking a question, you have to line up. If we implement a system where people will eventually get disciplined,  they will get used to it. The mistake of cdrking  is that they should have a customer service where people can just inquire there if they have the item or not.

Its 2011, and still this "only in the phils ways" are still there. Recently, i was in the airport in Vancouver for check in, and suddenly these two filipina ladies just cut in front of me. I sounded off "typical talaga, ano ba yan" of course to no avail. I told my wife "baka mga politicians chicks mga ito" ::) Before (early 90's) I always raise hell and tell  these people off, but now I don't even bother. I really don't know why. Maybe bec. if I sounded off ako pa ang mukhang mayabang sa mga ibang pinoy or others.  Diba? ::)

Another instance is when I was driving there, I tried to turn left on the second lane and my sisters (from america) shouted at me and told me to do a u-turn. I wanted to do Phil style driving, I'm not used to the american driving ways na. ;D Kahit its so darn far to do the u-turn I had to do it. That is the discipline we need. Why are we disciplined when we are abroad? Kasi nahiya tayo, takot mahuli!! Pero here we have a "pakialam ko sayo attitude, basta mauna ako" >:(

Peace!!

Anyway for 3990 pesos, I think its a good buy for people who want to go blu or for 2nd player, especially for living room or the kids room.

you can always call to inquire if they have the item you are looking for. i did that when i was looking for this blu-ray player. wala kasi noon sa sm north at trinoma, so i had to look for it in other branches na malapit sa area ko. good thing na mayro'n silang number ng every branch.
Absolutely no regrets!

+1. It's a no fuss, no hassle device sold for the price of a low/mid-end DVD player.

I have to agree. I've been to other countries where the service is equally as appalling. Cultures may be different but, at their core, people are the same everywhere.

one time bibili ako ng Blank Dvd, nagtatanong pa lang sabi nung supervisor pila muna, so pumili naman ako.

Then after mga 10mins sa pila, may isang lumapit at nagtanong sa same supervisor, and wallah, hinayaan na rin na bumili at the same time. sa inis ko, medyo mataas pero pro pa rin na tono, sabi ko kala ko ba may pila, sinagot ako na kanina pa raw yun, sabi ko ako ang kanina pa dito eh, nakita ko nung dumating yan.

CDR King (Pavilion Mall , Laguna)

Back to topic.

sana ma-unlock na ito soon... if it does get unlocked, i'd definitely grab one

Does this player support the SRT files?  Will it show the SRT subtitles while watching the video file? Coz I'm thinking of burning my video files to a DVD since it doesn't support NTFS flash drives.  TIA.

Agree!

I was looking for a Ceiling Mount for my Projector a coupleof months ago, saw the item in their website. says "On Stock". Called their Number in the website to inquire what branches do they have that Item. They said in Trinoma Branch [The Big one located outside the Mall].

So my Mom went there and inquired for the Product. The people there said that "Out of Stock or Wala po dito sa Branch namin ma'm"... So my Mom called me and i talked to their supervisor..telling them that i already called their hotline to confirm that the product is in their Branch... He told me to wait for a minute or two... THEN LO & BEHOLD! they actually have the product in hand!

Lesson: Call beforehand [if you can] to know what branch has the item you are looking for, IF i wasn't able to call them before then i would have believed them saying that they don't have that item in their Branch..forcing me to keep looking elsewhere..

Cool, will probably buy that Player for Room use...haha..

yes, it does read SRT files. but depending on the SRT style, some may appear small and light.

Is this the recommended player at this price point? Are there no other alternatives at around 5k pesos?

I burned some data DVDs and tried it out on this player.  Although it can read most of them, it was unable to read some MKV files which clearly plays on my PC using the same DVD.  Also, the subtitles are not shown even though I have the SRT files on the folder (and subs also show when played on PC).  Is there a setting that I need to configure on this player so that the subs will appear?  Need your help guys.  TIA!

Yes that's done.  Like I said the subs are appearing properly when the burned DVD is played on a PC, but it's not on this player.  Even my Transformers MKV file (burned on DVD) which has embedded subs are not appearing even though I set the subs to the 4 languages available, using the remote.  Did you guys experience this before?

Any idea if the player plays .srt files while a DVD is playing? I want to play my Japanese DVD in it but there are no English subtitles. I might consider importing a Swedish film as well pero wala ding English subtitles yung BD.

I just checked, mukhang pareho lang specs nila even sa audio. DTS-HD and Dolby True HD din ang BDP-160.

I think the only difference here is in the form. BDP-190 is slimmer and has the USB port in front.
