This is my simple bedroom HT set-up.

Onkyo TX-SR508
Popbox V8
Seagate 1TB expansion HD
Mission M33i FS
Mission M3C1i
Mission M30i
RF 12inch sub, Power series
powered by pilyo amp

my rf sub in custom ported box by me, tune at 36hz... this is from my past set up in my car.

pilyo amp, got the amp bare... so i made an enclosure for it.

Recently tried to DIY a sub box for JBL GTO1214, following the jbl box recommended enclosure. 1.75cuft., sub and port displacement included. It is said in the manual that it will tune at 34hz but as i re-compute with my box calculator it is tune at 40hz. Next time i will be making a slot ported box, 2.5cuft tune at 28hz. As per its TS this sub have a fs of 28 and a frequency response from 23hz-400hz.

I also like the look nung sub box. Suggestion sir: Try running a bigger box that's tuned lower for HT use, as the recommended enclosure specs ng makers ng mobile audio drivers heavily rely on the transfer function ng typical vehicular cabin.

For the GTO1214, you might want something around 3 cubic feet (or more) for home use. The lower tuned large enclosure would move a lot more air through the ports, so you might want at least 2 3" ports to maintain reasonable port velocities (a single 5" or bigger would be even better).
