BlurayHD's Humble Low Budget Setup
« on: Apr 24, 2011 at 07:07 AM »
Here is my living room setup which I started just last year from an HTiB beginning.
Then got an Denon 1610 AVR with Mordaunt Short Package and an Acer DLP projector.
Got my inspiration here at PDVD and was impressed by most of the setups here. It's time to share my setup.
Front View:
Acer p1100 DLP 3D Ready Projector w/ free 72x72 PJ Screen
Toshiba LCD TV behind
Mission SCM51 L&R speakers
Carnival 5 speaker set
PS3 game and BD player
Karavision Videoke DVD Player
TP Link Wireless Router
Acer Laptop HTPC
Desktop HTPC
1TB HP Disk storage
1 KVA Hossoni AVR

Denon 1610 AVR, iPOD dock

Toshiba Regza TV, TP Link Router

Projector Screen Mounted and Carinval 1 Speaker B (Front Height)

Acer DLP 3D Ready projector, Carnival 1 Surrounds, DVD Rack

Acer Laptop and Carnival 9 subwoofer

PS3, Mission SCM51 (for Denon) Front Speakers

Carnival 5 Center Speaker, with acoustic fabric and foam at the back

Acoustic Fabric as window curtain

Thanks for looking...

Just wanna share how I suspended the free projector screen from Acer
used a u shaped hook (2 pcs) and 8mm tox to mount the hook then suspended the screen roll up case on the edge. A low cost roll up manual projector screen

The screen once rolled down doesn't need to be tied anymore

Just wanna share my PJ upgrade story, we had a samsung 32 LCD series, broke down after 2 years and contacted samsung for repair. LCD panel not available anymore so they offered me a replacement unit. I did not accept it as series 3 LCD's break down. I opted for cash compensation and got the projector by just adding a couple of bucks.

Here is a sample shot of the PJ  at work..
PJ is not HD but has an hdmi cable for connection to AVR.
Quality is good enough for our family's viewing and gaming.
Viewing experience is better than an LCD though

gaming in PS3
its better experience for gaming, wishing to have a PS Move

congrats sir on your setup! i hope you dont mind me asking, m just curious about the pj being not magastos na setup. does it mean mas mura po inabot ng pj setup nyo compared to, let say buying a 50" HDTV worth around 50k++ ? thanks  :)

Acer PJ is just around 30K, bought it in installment. Mura cya compared sa LCD 40in and above. HDMI na rin cya pero hindi HD resolution. good enough naman PQ sakin. importante malaki screen (can project to the max size of your screen) and hdmi connection for movie usage.

how much does a replacement bulb of your pj cost? i would estimate atleast 7k. so i would advice not using your pj for gaming (unless you only play 2-4 hours a week). when i play kasi minsan abot ng 8 hours, specially for addicting games, time usually flies.  :D using your lcd to play might be a better long term solution, although not as immersive.

i only show gameplay using my pj for demo sa mga visitors. pero pag playing na talaga sa panel na.  :)

havent inquired yet, its quite new so na immersed pa ako sa big screen. I only play once in a while mga 3 hrs max. Usually sa lcd nako for playing games.

sir san shop kayo bumili ng acer projector? parang mas ok kasi yun pj screen na kasama, aside from mas malaki from the usual tripod screen 70x70 na free eh nagllock pa yun sainyo when fully extended.....tripod screen din ba ang free sainyo tapos binaklas nyo nalang din?

Yung free screen is 72x72, actually hindi cya self locking but yung pagkasuspend ko, nakaposition yung opening ng roll towards you, hindi downwards, kaya cya hindi bumabalik. Sa electroworld ko nabili may 12mo zero interest kasi at 2 yr warranty pa sa acer.

ah ok, medyo nakakatakot lang din kasi pag di self locking lalo na pag may tv pa sa likod...ang worry ko kasi eh kung sakali ganyan din gawin ko baka lang biglang pumitik  pataas eh tamaan yun tv sa likod....napaisip tuloy ako kung sakaling magdecide nako to go the pj route eh kung gagamitin ba yun free screen or bibili nalang ng manual self locking screen (dagdag gastos nga lang) :-\ anyway thanks sa reply sir...very helpful ;)
