"I'm sure they were all geeked up for him," Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said of the Heat defense on Lin. "And they took the challenge and they did a great job. It's hard to be Peter Pan every day."

the lakers' need for a good PG was only exposed this season after the phil jackson/triangle offense era, wherein a ''traditional'' PG wasn't really necessary in running the triangle.

Under Coach Brown's system, a traditional PG isn't really necessary, too.

If proof was needed that the Heat wanted to make a point against Lin, there was some clear evidence.

Exhibit A: Mario Chalmers stole the ball from Lin and went in for a two-handed dunk in the early minutes. Exhibit B: Norris Cole, Chalmers' backup at point guard, did the same thing in the second quarter.

Under Coach Brown's system, a traditional PG isn't really necessary, too.

with D-Fish and Steve Blake playing like crap, they need one. they need a PG who can get the ball in the right spots and can score from the perimeter consistently. and just like synchro_01 posted on page 50, they also need an athletic wingman with scoring punch. metta world peace isn't exactly the ron artest who played for indiana, sacramento, and houston.  ;)

to be fair to the lakers, they're still learning and adjusting to mike brown's system. for more on that, here's an interesting read...

LA trailing OKC in the 3Q by double digits.  Hirap na hirap...  IMO LA needs to pull off a trade if they want to contend this year - whether it's for Beasley or Sessions.  Sana si Sessions na lang.
We deserve better.

some Laker fans are hesitant on Beasley since he's a headcase, i don't know much about Ramon Sessions though.

how about signing Gilbert Arenas? he's a headcase too but im pretty sure he can rack up those points coming off the bench.

sayang si Lin kanina, hindi nag-adjust. natakot na nu'ng ang dami niyang TO the first half. hindi siya nagp-penetrate like his other games. ginawa niya against the heat kanina - dribble inside, stop, and hesitate. parang hindi siya.

According to Lin himself, its because of MIA's D.

Di pa siya nakaranas ng ganong klaseng D. Magaling itong si Kabayan natin na Coach. (Half Kabayan ;))

ariza wanted a higher paycheck but the lakers cant afford to pay him, it so happens artest is an FA at the same cost.

same with shannon brown also wanting a higher pay check. naging garbage tuloy career nila pareho.

yung game kanina partida na yung the knicks had tons of TO's and they cant play D besides chandler.

dapat nga blowout game na yun eh. at si melo lang halos gumagawa kanina, tsaka si novak at jr smith. lin and amare were absent.

ok na din yun so Lin can learn from this and improve his game.

The Lakers lost the ff personnel for the past three years due to cost cutting moves by Buss:

Trevor Ariza - defensive nightmare to opposing Teams, consistent perimeter jumper.
Jordan Farmar - reliable backup PG with consistent jumper
Shanon Brown - uber athletic wingman with scoring punch coming off the bench.
Lamar Odom - the sixth man of the year/ matchup nightmare and IMHO one of the most versatile players in the NBA

This is why they are bleeding for points when the second unit comes in to spell relief to the first five. They need exactly what they have lost in terms of personnel. Those 4 players plus 1 rookie is already a first 5 caliber team. That is how strong they were when they won back to back championships even without Bynum's presence.

The biggest loss that they incurred which has nothing to do with cost cutting is none other than Phil Jackson. Coach Brown is a good replacement though but he still needs time to integrate his system.

This report is probably the reason why Kobe got sick today and didn't appear at the All-Star Media Day.  :)

Lakers to add Rasheed Wallace:

http://www.necn.com/02/24/12/Source-Rasheed-Wallace-to-sign-with-Lake/landing_mobile.html?blockID=657492&feedID=3352

There's a reason why players retire, right?  ???
