Agree. Lebron will be a close second in the voting.

If Durant wins MVP, I also have a feeling that the MVP curse will haunt him this year.

in my point of view, OKC needs to beat SA to represent the WEST and should they surpass that, i feel they are capable of beating CHI should CHI represents the EAST but if its goin to be MIAMI, that will be much harder becoz of Miami's experience.

so a CHI setback now open the doors for the Spurs to get the overall NO.1 seed and home court advantage for the entire playoffs.

I wonder if the Spurs mgmt will re-sign Diaw, kung sakaling maganda ang contribution ni Diaw at mag-Champion ang Spurs.

Malaki pala ang tsansa ng Spurs na maging back-to-back champs, sa 2 shortened NBA seasons. :D

If the Spurs don't get hit by injuries, I'd say they will be the dark horse in the West.. they're practically the same team that topped the West last season.. and this shortened season is good for Duncan and Manu.. maybe another post-lockout crown for the Spurs?

this was my post 4 days after the season opened.. I just realized that I've been following the Spurs all season long even though I'm no fan.. I was even more interested in their first 11-game winning streak than Linsanity during February.. and if they get the 1st seed, there's a chance they would get payback on the Grizzlies in the 2nd round if the standings stay the same..

and how about the Sixers.. they're on a nose-dive now.. they've lost 4 straight.. Doug Collins was a serious contender for COY just last month.. now, they're in danger of missing the playoffs..

Before its always Tim, manu, tony and boring to watch them play but now POPS has added more flavors and spices to his main ingredients and now they are a lot more fun to watch.

ESPNDallas ‏ @ESPNDallas tweets "BREAKING NEWS: #Mavs, Lamar Odom sever ties immediately, sources said. Story: http://es.pn/Hud5eL"

I think he is not eligible to sign for a playoff team. Kaya pinirmahan kaagad ng Spurs si Diaw, para makahabol sa deadline.

"Even if either side had pushed for a formal release, there is little upside to taking that step now with Odom ineligible to play in the playoffs with another team because he wasn't waived before the March 23 deadline."

the simple plays are almost always boring to watch and yet effective. but when one of the three get injured, it seems that their simple plays are not as effective with different players.

Good article written about Pop back in January..

Only one Gregg Popovich

It will be recorded as just another San Antonio loss, in a season with too many. This one came against a crucial rival, in overtime, with playoff implications.

But to me the dazzling thing about the Spurs' loss to the Mavericks is that it was a chance for the Spurs to rub the rest of the league's face in the fact that they don't do things like other teams.

Gregg Popovich pulled his last starter with around three minutes left in the third quarter of a game that went to overtime. But for Kawhi Leonard straying onto the court for a few seconds here or there, none returned.

In fact, Popovich didn't make a single substitution from the beginning of the fourth on. There's a lot of meaning in his decision to stick with the lineup of Danny Green, Matt Bonner, James Anderson, Tiago Splitter and Gary Neal. Just some of that:

In most systems, on most teams, the big minutes in the big games go to those who have already earned them. In San Antonio, Popovich knows those minutes can do a lot to inspire young players to develop. He has long been handing them out to players who would struggle to make a lot of NBA rosters. And he has way more than his fair share of those players evolve into meaningful contributors. Is it just that his front office knows how to find diamonds in the rough? Or maybe Popovich has mastered the art of polishing.

^He can't sign with any other team, sir. He's only inactive for the rest of the season, he wasn't bought out or released.

The Mavs still hold the rights to trade him in the offseason.

Pero para ngang sinabotahe lang ni Odom ang Mavs.  :P

If the NBA Playoffs started today...

[#2-San Antonio Spurs vs. #7-Dallas Mavericks] vs, [#3-Los Angeles Lakers vs. #6-Houston Rockets]

The Texas Triangle Trio under one bracket. Cost-Cutting Measure. :D

It just shows how unprofessional he is. From the start his body language showed that he is not happy with the mavs and wants to go back to LA. Unlike DFish, he ain't man enough to face new challenges. Cry baby!  >:(

Dallas still has Odom and can trade him anywhere they want. Big fat chance they'll return him to the LAkers. Cuban must feel royally screwed with this deal.

Yah, not sure if other teams will be interested with that kind of attitude. I dont think Lakers will take him back.

Baka paglaruin na lang muna sya sa DLeague just like what happen to JLIN before or i trade with a mascot, hehehe.

^ good point bro, worst record gets higher combination in lottery kaya lang I don't think they will intentionally lose a game for the lottery because they need to develop winning attitude lalo na sa younger players nila.. And  also the Fans, lalo na yung mga season ticket holders baka di na umulit next year..

and unlike in NFL where the worst team automatically gets 1st pick, sa NBA at least nasa 4 teams ang vying for 1st pick.. although may chance din yung ibang non-playoff teams pero mababa na chance nila..
