The only time I would buy a non-mainstream flatscreen brand is if its priced low enough (like, say, P12K or lower for a 32 incher) for me not to lose sleep over in case the set turned out to be a lemon and after-sales sucked donkey balls.
(Actually, I'd still lose sleep over it, but the probability of murder over at the merchant store is not as likely

As I just posted on another thread, Sony's latest smart TV LCD is retailing for just P29K, with the wi-fi dongle and Skype camera already packaged with the set. Point being, flatscreens are getting more and more affordable with each generation of models. Heck, I remember shelling our P33K some 4 years ago for a 32" entry -level, HD-ready Toshiba Regza - and that's for the *discounted* cash price already, mind you - but now for that amount of money, I could already get a full-HD LED model, like LG's 32LV5500.
